A surprise announcement at the CoD Next event revealed that Verdansk will be making a comeback in Spring 2025 in the popular game Warzone. While this may come as a surprise to those who were anticipating Area 99 to be the main focus, those who have been following leaks and rumors will not be caught off guard as its return has been hinted at for several months.
There is no doubt that Verdansk is one of the most well-known Warzone maps ever designed. Its introduction in 2020 is often praised for the overwhelming triumph of the Call of Duty Battle Royale.
Ever since, gamers have been introduced to Caldera, Al Mazrah, and Urzikstan as expansive Warzone maps, but none have garnered the same level of popularity as Verdansk. With the release of each new CoD installment, fans have fervently requested for the return of Verdansk, and their pleas will finally be fulfilled in 2025.

The CoD Next presentation shared new information about what players can expect in Warzone’s upcoming era, including redesigned Perks, updates to the looting system, and the addition of Mastery Camos. As the Warzone segment drew to a close, it was announced that Verdansk is scheduled to be released in the spring of 2025.
Currently, there is minimal information available about the content of this updated version of Verdansk, aside from its expected release window.
As part of the Black Ops 6 game cycle, Verdansk will be making its return. This clarifies why a new large map will not be introduced to Warzone during the release of BO6 Season 1. Instead, players can expect the launch of the new Resurgence map, Area 99, before Verdansk arrives in the Spring.
Although an exact release month or date has not been disclosed, it is expected that Spring 2025 will coincide with either Season 3 or Season 4 of Black Ops 6. As soon as we have more information on when Verdansk will be returning, we will make sure to inform you.
Prior to the highly anticipated release of the iconic map, players will have the opportunity to stay engaged with Warzone Battle Royale Ranked Play in Urzikstan, which will be available shortly after the launch of Black Ops 6 Season 1.
