Call of Duty: Warzone is gearing up for an exciting overhaul with the upcoming Season 1 Reloaded update, which promises to introduce a wealth of new features. Players can look forward to the much-anticipated return of Ranked Play, along with new weaponry and additional content that will enhance the overall gameplay experience.
With the initial Season 1 update, which successfully merged the worlds of Black Ops 6 and Warzone, fans have already seen the debut of the Area 99 map and an array of new weapons. However, this mid-season update is set to deliver even more thrilling content.
Release Date for Warzone Season 1 Reloaded
The Warzone Season 1 Reloaded update is scheduled for release on Thursday, December 5. This announcement came alongside a teaser for the new Black Ops 6 Zombies map, titled Citadelle Des Morts, which will also be made available with this mid-season refresh.

This means the mid-season updates are arriving three weeks into the season instead of the traditional four-week interval, likely to allow developers time to address any unforeseen issues prior to the holiday break. The update is set to run until Tuesday, January 28, which is later than usual.
Ranked Play Makes Its Comeback
Among the most significant features of the Season 1 Reloaded update is the revival of Warzone Ranked Play, which is set to debut on the expansive Urzikstan map for the first time since the introduction of Modern Warfare 2. After the MW3 cycle, which limited competitive play to smaller arenas like Rebirth Island, this return to larger battlegrounds is a much-anticipated change.
This will mark the earliest launch of Ranked Play in Warzone history, allowing developers to fine-tune the system ahead of the highly anticipated return of Verdansk in 2025. While specific details on format changes or ranking systems have yet to be released, expectations lean toward a format similar to what players are already familiar with. However, fans can anticipate new elements, as developers have confirmed the addition of new cinematics for Infil, Exfil, and the Gulag, along with an exciting Winner’s Circle to celebrate match victors.
Exciting New Weapons
As part of the Season 1 Reloaded update, players can look forward to three new weapons: the Malestrom Shotgun, AMR Mod 4 Sniper Rifle, and Cleaver Melee weapon.
The particular standout may be the AMR Mod 4 Sniper Rifle, designed to deliver high damage at up to 100 meters with its semi-auto firing capability. Complementing this is the Malestrom, a full-auto shotgun reminiscent of previous game metas. Notably, these new weapons will not be integrated into the Battle Pass immediately; instead, players will have the chance to unlock them through specific events prior to the commencement of Season 2.
As players gear up for the new features, it is advisable to optimize your loadouts with current meta weapons and the best perks available in Warzone to ensure competitive edge.
