The transition into Black Ops 6’s Warzone has encountered various challenges. Many players have expressed disappointment over the exclusive launch of the Area 99 Resurgence map, eagerly awaiting the return of Verdansk, which is scheduled for Spring 2025. Additionally, the game has faced ongoing issues with cheating that have disrupted the experience for many users.
Release Date for Warzone Season 2
The highly anticipated Season 2 of Warzone is scheduled to launch on Tuesday, January 28, 2025. This date coincides with the expiration of the Season 1 Battle Pass, a common practice for new season rollouts. Players can expect the update to become available at 9 AM PT / 5 PM GMT, with preloading occurring a couple of days prior to the release.
Enhancements to Anti-Cheat Measures
Cheating remains a critical concern within Warzone, particularly highlighted during the Season 1 update. In recognition of these challenges, developers have acknowledged past shortcomings, promising a series of enhancements in both Season 2 and the subsequent Season 3.
In a recent update shared via a blog post on December 16, the team revealed that they will be implementing upgrades to the “kernel-level driver” and introducing new server-side anti-cheat protections. Further details will emerge as we move closer to Season 2’s launch.
Improvements in Bug Fixes and Quality of Life Adjustments
While it is unclear whether specific updates will roll out before Season 2, Raven Software has outlined their priorities for post-holiday improvements. They have emphasized that while addressing cheating issues is crucial, they are also committed to enhancing server performance and game stability.
Confirmed changes include:
- Increased mantle speeds
- Rebalanced Perks
- Introduction of Combat Records
- Ability to close doors while sprinting
- Improvements to reviving mechanics
The upcoming Combat Record will offer more detailed insights compared to the current leaderboard approach. Players can also anticipate a thorough examination of several issues, including audio inconsistencies, visual challenges, keyboard and mouse functionality, irregular UAV behaviors, and contract discrepancies on the Tac Map.
As we approach the end of the year, we’d like to share some insight on what we’re working on for #Warzone. Cheating remains our top priority, particularly in our Ranked Play environment, and we want to acknowledge the impact it’s having on our players. We are working closely…
