If Rockstar has focused on the online part of GTA 5 in recent years, players have been wondering for several years now when crossplay will be available on. Everything we know.GTA Online
For almost a decade, GTA 5 has maintained its status as an essential juggernaut in the video games industry. Even if fans are on the lookout for the slightest information or rumor regarding GTA 6, the previous installment is still very popular.
In addition, Rockstar continues to support GTA Online with regular updates that further refine this high-end game with gargantuan content.
However, GTA Online remains lacking a crucial feature: crossplay. Adding this option would allow players to team up and have fun with their friends, regardless of the platform they are using. It’s a shame that Rockstar hasn’t implemented this much-requested feature yet.
Rockstar continues to provide regular updates to GTA Online.
Is GTA 5/GTA Online going to be crossplay?
This may come as a surprise to many players, but Rockstar Games still hasn’t implemented cross-platform for GTA 5, even though it seems to be a fairly common feature among other AAA titles.
The game is available on almost all platforms, from previous generation consoles like Xbox 360/PS3 to next generation consoles PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
And yet, Rockstar has still not taken the initiative to add this feature for players who do not all have the game on the same platform as their friends.
This absence can be explained by several factors, in particular the technical constraints linked to the different platforms on which the game is available. It could also be that Rockstar doesn’t consider crossplay a priority, perhaps due to their focus on developing GTA 6, for example.
Anyway, crossplay is currently not available in GTA Online, and it doesn’t seem like it is expected in the near future. So if you’re looking to play with your friends, then you’re all going to need to log in on the same platform!
