MrBeast’s ‘Beast Games’ is currently facing scrutiny from the Ontario Ministry of Labour due to a serious incident that took place on the set, raising concerns about safety protocols during filming.
When Jimmy ‘MrBeast’ Donaldson announced his ambitious new TV project inspired by the thrilling themes of *Squid Game* and his widely popular YouTube content, anticipation soared among fans. With Amazon backing this innovative venture, many were eager to witness how MrBeast would elevate his brand to the next level.
Although *Beast Games* premiered to significant excitement, the release has been marred by several troubling reports. Allegations have emerged regarding the treatment of contestants, prompting a lawsuit in Los Angeles. MrBeast has categorically denied these accusations, with several contestants providing testimonies that support his defense.
In addition to the lawsuit, there have been troubling incidents involving injuries sustained by both contestants and crew. Notably, a serious accident occurred when a six-by-six piece of set construction fell, resulting in hospitalization for one crew member.
Investigation into On-Set Injury
The Ontario Ministry of Labour has since launched an investigation into what has been classified as an “industrial accident” following reports that a crew member was struck by “falling wood” during filming. This ongoing inquiry aims to ensure workplace safety standards are upheld.
According to a report by CBC, details regarding the injured crew member’s condition remain confidential due to the active investigation. Additionally, the Ministry has issued a formal “requirement” to both Blink 49 Studios and Manhattan Beach Studios, although specifics about the nature of this requirement have not been disclosed.
Furthermore, Toronto Police responded to the scene after the incident, but given that it was not classified as a criminal matter, they decided not to pursue further investigations.
To accommodate contestants, an entire village was constructed in Canada specifically for *Beast Games*, illustrating the extensive resources dedicated to this production.
In response to the allegations, MrBeast has emphasized that claims of misconduct have been “blown out of proportion,” suggesting a disconnect between public perception and actual events on set.
As the situation unfolds, it remains uncertain what the outcomes of both the lawsuit and the ongoing investigation will be.
