On Wednesday, August 21, 2024, the official X (formerly known as Twitter) for the One Piece Live Action series on Netflix announced two important casting decisions for the show’s second season. These castings include Katey Sagal as Dr. Kureha and Mark Harelik as Dr. Hiriluk. This marks the beginning of a three-day period during which the show’s key cast members for the upcoming season will be announced, leading up to Netflix’s Geeked Week 2024.
Sadly, the casting announcements for season 2 of One Piece Live Action also serve as the confirmation that Jamie Lee Curtis will not be portraying Dr. Kureha in the show. Although Tomorrow Studios and several producers revealed this information in a recent interview, many fans were still hoping it was just a ploy to generate excitement. However, the official casting of Sagal in the role leaves no room for doubt that this is truly the case.
