CCTV Footage Shows Jessi Kissing Producer Koala in Controversial “Fan Assault” Incident

In the early hours of September 28, an incident transpired in Apgujeong-dong, located in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, where a young fan approached Jessi for a photograph and was later assaulted by a member of Jessi’s entourage.

Reports indicate that Jessi attempted to intervene during the assault before exiting the area. Subsequently, the victim contacted the police, who arrived at the scene. However, Jessi’s representatives made it clear that the attacker, identified as Mr. A, “is not affiliated with Jessi but is a friend of a producer known as Koala, who is close to her. As a result of the incident, a total of four individuals, which includes Jessi, Mr. A, Koala, and another person present at the time, faced charges of assault following the victim’s lawsuit.

During her visit to the Gangnam Police Station on October 16, Jessi commented on the assailant, stating, “This was the first time I saw him.”

On October 11, Koala was also interrogated by the police as a suspect. He faces allegations of obstructing the victim’s photo request, pushing them in the stomach, and making threats by headbutting. This aggressive behavior was documented in additional CCTV footage aired by JTBC’s “Crime Chief” on the 16th, which intensified the public’s concern.

Koala is known as a producer behind several of Jessi’s popular tracks, such as “NUNU NANA,” “Cold Blooded,” and “What Type of X.” Moreover, Jessi collaborated with Koala on his single “RSVP,” which was launched last year.

Nevertheless, Jessi’s legal representative clarified during the “Crime Chief” broadcast that “Although Koala has collaborated with Jessi on a few musical projects, she is not connected to any gang affiliations. We have no information that ties Koala to any gang activities.”
