Celebrating 15 Years of Minecraft at VidCon Anaheim with YouTube

As Minecraft nears its 15th anniversary, YouTube is commemorating the cherished sandbox game at VidCon Anaheim with an interactive booth and other events for both fans and creators to partake in.

Minecraft was initially launched in November 2009, and over the course of the following 15 years, a vast community of players has developed around the game.

Additionally, some influencers have achieved widespread notoriety by streaming the game on Twitch or sharing videos on YouTube, including popular British YouTuber TommyInnit and Minecraft sensation Dream.

As VidCon Anaheim approaches, YouTube is celebrating the upcoming anniversary of the title by featuring a special booth for one of its most beloved games.

The lineup of events will also feature a Minecraft Masterminds: The Ultimate Trivia Challenge panel, showcasing popular creators such as Aphmau and Tommyinit, as they compete in various challenges exploring the rich history of Minecraft. Attendees can also expect exciting giveaways and opportunities for fan involvement.

In addition, YouTube will also hold a Garden Block Party event where guests can immerse themselves in the Minecraft world through special photo opportunities, giveaways of merchandise, and appearances by popular Minecraft content creators.

Jessica Freeman, the Head of Marketing for Minecraft, acknowledges that the Minecraft community and YouTube are closely intertwined and intends to acknowledge this connection at the event.

As we commemorate Minecraft’s 15th anniversary this year, we have been contemplating the strong connection between Minecraft and YouTube,”she stated. “We are excited to join forces with YouTube for our VidCon activation – a dynamic booth that will allow fans to relive the iconic Minecraft moments that have influenced their gameplay throughout the years. We eagerly anticipate the experience that awaits both fans and creators alike.

“According to him, YouTube and Minecraft have served as a personal creative playground where he has built his channel and had countless amazing experiences. He believes that this new opportunity will be a fantastic experience for the community of fans and content creators.”

VidCon Anaheim is set to occur at the Anaheim Convention Center from June 26-29, showcasing a plethora of notable internet personalities such as Charli D’Amelio, Anthony Padilla, and numerous others.
