On September 8th, the film “Harbin,” directed by Woo Min-ho, made its global premiere at the 49th Toronto International Film Festival. Stars Hyun Bin and Lee Dong-wook shared the red carpet with director Woo Min-ho, engaging warmly with fans.
During a red carpet interview, Hyun Bin expressed his gratitude for the support of his wife, Son Ye-jin. He said with a smile, “Her understanding and support mean a lot to me, and I’m very grateful.” He emphasized, “She supports me in every aspect.”
Hyun Bin’s heartfelt comments sparked appreciation from the public for the couple’s deep bond, especially after two years of marriage.
Earlier, during her appearance at the 2024 Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN), Son Ye-jin shared insights about Hyun Bin. In response to a question about their relationship, she said, “That’s an interesting question!”
“Actors meet many co-stars while working on various projects. Many of them date or even get married, but personally, I did not like that aspect,” she elaborated. “It felt like fate when people started saying we looked alike. I never thought I resembled him, but everyone kept saying we did. So, I looked at him more closely and began wondering, ‘Do we really share the same feelings?’ I truly fell in love with Hyun Bin’s real-life personality.”
Son Ye-jin continued, “Compared to people in the past, he is very kind and rational, almost like a scholar.” She mentioned, “He’s not someone who hides his discomfort and presents himself in a positive light; he’s genuinely straightforward and simple. And he’s handsome too,” she humorously added, causing laughter among those present. She concluded, “Above all, Hyun Bin is very trustworthy. That’s the main reason.”
Since their marriage, both Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin have secured numerous advertising deals, film roles, and event appearances. However, Son Ye-jin, born in 1982, has chosen to reduce her workload significantly after tying the knot.
In a late 2023 interview, Son Ye-jin mentioned her desire to spend time with her son, stating, “Since I am married and have a child, my time for films will definitely be limited.”
As a homemaker, Son Ye-jin frequently shares glimpses of her life with Hyun Bin, including moments of dating, personal home cleaning, and cooking for her beloved husband on social media.
She proudly notes that Hyun Bin is her first love and that their married life has brought about positive changes for her.
