Celebrity Who Debuted as an Idol Three Times but Faced Continuous Setbacks, Eventually Transitioned to Acting and Found Success

Lee Seo-an, who was born in 1989, had dreams of becoming a flight attendant. After graduating from the Korea Aerospace University with a major in Aeronautical Science & Flight Operations, she made her debut in 2009 as a member of SeeYa. She joined the group to fill the spot previously held by Nam Gyu-ri and they released the EP album “Rebloom” . Later on, Lee Seo-an also became a member of Coed School and F-ve Dolls, gaining experience as an idol three times over.

Despite facing controversies and ultimately disbanding, the 10-member co-ed group Coed School offered SeeYa’s first opportunity as a leader. She later debuted for a third time with F-ve Dolls, receiving better part distribution and positive reactions. However, constant member changes and mistreatment resulted in the group being labeled as a “recycled group”. After a year, SeeYa made the decision to leave F-ve Dolls and focus on solo activities.

After F-ve Dolls disbanded in 2012, Lee Seo-an made the decision to shift her focus from idol activities to acting. In 2016, she ventured into the Chinese market by starring in Chinese dramas. This eventually led to her return to the Korean entertainment industry in 2017, where she fully dedicated herself to acting under her new stage name, Lee Seo-an. She explained that she had been contemplating a name change for some time and ultimately decided on Lee Seo-an, a name that she believed was distinctive yet not too unconventional.

In the series “Justice”, Lee Seo-an took on the role of Jeong Hae-jin, a determined young actress who is willing to do whatever it takes to achieve success. This role greatly elevated her reputation as an actress. She continued to receive acclaim for her convincing performances in “Mystic Pop-up Bar”, “Artificial City”and “Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol”. In the JTBC drama “Queen of Divorce”, which aired on Wednesdays and Thursdays, she portrayed Ji-in, a cold and vengeful daughter-in-law from a wealthy family, leaving a lasting impression and showcasing her versatility as an actress.

Lee Seo-an has also impressed in her role as Jung Ji-sun, the wife of the eldest son in a wealthy family, in Disney+’s “The Impossible Heir” . She has consistently captivated audiences with her exceptional acting in every project she takes on. Lee Seo-an has openly shared her aspiration to portray sincere and moving characters that deeply connect with viewers. Her consistent development and versatility in portraying diverse characters have raised anticipation for her upcoming projects.
