Ex-Call of Duty professional Doug ‘Censor’ Martin has announced that Guinness World Records has rejected his recent claim for a 24-hour pull-up record, despite the fact that thousands witnessed him surpass the previous mark during a live stream.
On September 8, 2024, Censor broke the existing world record by completing an impressive 8,940 pull-ups in a single day. He didn’t stop there, pushing his total to 9,250 pull-ups to firmly establish his place in the record books.
The extraordinary achievement was broadcast live, drawing in a large audience who rallied behind the former CoD pro. After dedicating an entire year to preparation following a previous unsuccessful attempt in July 2023, Censor finally realized his ambition.
However, more than a month following his record-breaking feat and submission to Guinness World Records, reports suggest that his application has been turned down.

During his record-setting attempt, Censor directed all donations to Project Purple, a nonprofit organization focused on supporting individuals battling pancreatic cancer. He also promoted One More Rep Athletics & Fitness, a fitness brand based in the U.S., during the streaming event.
He believes that his charity involvement is the reason for the rejection, emphasizing, “They denied my application because I was representing a charity.” He added, “If you’re associated with a business, organization, charity, or government… that’s what led to my denial.”
