CFB 25 Players Express Satisfaction with First Major Post-Launch Update

After the first major update for College Football 25, 25 players praised the game for addressing several notable issues. However, when the patch caused a glitch in Dynasty mode, EA quickly took action to resolve the issue.

The primary changes in the August 8 update were focused on enhancing tackling, restricting quarterbacks’ ability to scramble, eliminating glitches in the game, and adjusting the effectiveness of spin and juke moves.

In Dynasty Mode, FCS schools will no longer have an advantage and there will be fewer issues with recruiting, school visits, and the Playoff seeding simulation.

The update, however, brought about a few problems that needed to be resolved.

EA Addresses Post-Patch Glitch

A glitch was found by players that bars incoming freshmen from appearing in position changes. Consequently, users could not assign athletes or other players to different positions in order to develop them elsewhere.

The CFB 25 Direct team addressed and verified issues resulting from changing coaches and using different playbooks, as well as annual non-conference games not rotating.

On August 9, while performing maintenance on the server, all three issues were successfully resolved.

Fans flocked to Reddit to express their appreciation to EA for their open communication and applauded the latest update. Additionally, they showered the company with praise and compliments.

“One user responded with surprise, stating that the amount of work put into this EA patch is impressive. They acknowledged that the bugs were the company’s fault, but found it encouraging that they are making efforts to fix them.”

Tackling inconsistencies from chasing defenders and incorrect pursuit angles were among the top concerns on many wishlists. From our experience, it often seemed impossible to successfully bring down an opponent in open field tackles after throwing an interception or getting beaten over the top.

This update effectively prevents easy touchdowns and makes it more challenging for quarterbacks to evade containment defense by scrambling behind the line of scrimmage.

Despite acknowledging that quarterbacks like Johnny Manziel were known for making impressive plays at Texas A&M, it was necessary to limit scrambling abilities.

Despite some hesitation, it has been acknowledged that smaller programs may face difficulty in recruiting four and five star talent, but they have taken on the challenge with enthusiasm.

According to a second user, the change is undoubtedly positive. Last night, while in week 12, the user delved into the list of still-available players and discovered that the top-ranked tight end (4 stars) had not received any offers.

The initial major update addressed numerous urgent issues and the team has no plans to halt updates. The development team has committed to monitoring all changes and responding accordingly.
