On January 5, during the prestigious 2024 MBC Drama Awards, Chae Soo-bin garnered acclaim as the recipient of the Excellence Award in the mini-series category.
Notably, Chae Soo-bin served as one of the event’s MCs. However, she gracefully stepped away from the podium to accept her award, accompanied by a bouquet of flowers, when her name was announced.
During her acceptance speech, she expressed heartfelt sentiments, stating:
“Before coming here, I heard heartbreaking news, and my heart is deeply heavy. I want to express my sincere condolences.”
She elaborated on her passion for acting, recalling how it had captivated her from a young age:
“Since I was young, I dreamed of acting. Watching TV, I admired how actors could live so many different lives through their roles. Every project has felt like a gift to me. And not just for me—if it can provide comfort, joy, or happiness to someone else, I feel truly grateful for that.”
Chae Soo-bin took a moment to reflect on her role in the moving drama “When The Phone Rings,”conveying gratitude to the production team for the opportunity to tell such a compelling love story.
She also extended special thanks to her co-star, Yoo Yeon-seok, remarking:
“I called him ‘Captain Yoo’ on set and looked up to him a lot. He guided and helped me so much, and I’m sincerely grateful for that.” Yoo Yeon-seok portrayed her husband in the series.
To conclude her moving speech, Chae Soo-bin made a heartfelt gesture by incorporating sign language, expressing:
“For this project, I learned sign language, so I would like to say something in sign language.” She then signed, “Through my role as Hee-joo in this drama, I was happy to connect with all of you. Thank you for your love.”
