Chainsaw Man Chapter 164: A Pressing Concern

As Chainsaw Man chapter 164 opens, Denji is still recovering from the powerful strike of War Devil Yoru. Despite his pain, his first concern is for Nayuta, and he immediately asks about her whereabouts. This puzzles Yoru, who questions if Denji is still dreaming and proceeds to try and wake him up by pulling his starter cord.

Despite his pleas, he still grabs her arm and stops her from proceeding, declaring that he will fight her regardless of whether he is dreaming or not, as long as Nayuta is safe. Yoru is taken aback and reluctantly allows Asa to take control of their body. Asa then turns to Denji and inquires about the situation. The group makes their way back to Denji’s house, passing by some deceased Fakesaw Men whose corpses have not yet been cleared.

Chainsaw Man chapter 164 finds Denji in a state of shock and disbelief upon seeing their former home and realizing that Nayuta is not there. Haruka Iseumi addresses Denji as Chainsaw Man and declares that if they cannot find Nayuta, there is no other option. She insists that he is aware of the truth, and that Nayuta was probably ambushed by grown-ups with weapons and murdered after fleeing. Yoru bluntly urges him to stop wallowing and accept the truth, but Denji persists in sifting through the debris. Yoru appears exasperated, but Asa takes control of their body and takes hold of his hand.

In chapter 164 of Chainsaw Man, Asa reminds Denji that when he rescued her as Chainsaw Man, he had mentioned understanding her emotions. She acknowledges that she now comprehends his current state, having lost a loved one due to his decisions. Asa promises to assist in any way she can, as long as he communicates what he needs from her.

At first, Denji is quiet, causing Asa to become concerned. However, he suddenly starts shouting at her, expressing confusion over her sudden change from attacking him to being friendly. This takes Asa by surprise, while Iseumi supports Denji’s viewpoint. Asa attempts to clarify her actions, but instead urges him to transform into Chainsaw Man and engage in a fight, stating that they can resume a normal life afterwards.

Chainsaw Man: Apathy and Hunger

In Chainsaw Man chapter 164, Denji refuses, stating that whenever he transforms into Chainsaw Man, everything around him becomes disastrous. He expresses his concern about Nayuta’s whereabouts, evident from the troubled expression on his face. Asa attempts to enlist the help of Famine Devil Fami, but she merely points out that Denji’s hunger makes him unable to fight and leads to negativity.

Right on cue, Denji’s stomach emits a loud growl, causing Asa to shift her expression into one that clearly shows her impatience with him. Despite this, she still calls out to him and offers to get him whatever food he desires. At first, he claims to not have a preference, but eventually suggests sushi as a potential option.

In chapter 164 of Chainsaw Man, Asa expresses her frustration by refusing to say anything except for sushi, as she despises it. This leads Katana Man to reprimand her for her actions. Meanwhile, Denji, feeling dejected, glances up from the debris and utters the word sushi as the chapter comes to a close. Asa, visibly upset by this turn of events, looks on.

Regrettably, the release of chapter 165 has been postponed, indicating that it will now be available on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at 12 am Japanese Standard Time due to a break in the series.

Chainsaw Man: In summation

Despite being a relatively uneventful chapter, 164 does establish a long-term partnership between Denji and Asa’s group. It is also anticipated that this collaboration will endure for a considerable amount of time, potentially leading fans to the highly anticipated arrival of the Death Devil.

Despite the series taking a week-long break before its next release, fans will have to wait for the upcoming weeks and months to find out Fujimoto’s true intentions.
