Chainsaw Man Creator Recommends This Underrated Manga You Must Read

One of the most remarkable yet underrated Shonen mangas has recently gained acknowledgment from Chainsaw Man creator Tatsuki Fujimoto. Here’s everything you need to know.

Set in the 16th century, Centuria is a Shonen manga by Tohru Kuramori that centers around Julian, a stowaway on a slave ship. Surviving in a brutal world, Julian faces numerous challenges after being sold by his mother. His life takes a transformative turn when he encounters Mira, a pregnant woman aboard the ship.

Following a tragic event, he sets out on a trailblazing quest for peace and freedom with Mira’s newborn daughter, Diana. Centuria made its debut in April 2024 and currently features 25 chapters.

Interestingly, many fans may not be aware that Kuramori is a former assistant of Tatsuki Fujimoto. This isn’t an isolated instance; the creators of popular titles like Spy X Family, Hell’s Paradise, and Dandadan have also worked under Fujimoto.

Kuramori expressed his excitement on Twitter/X, stating, “Today, October 4th, volume 2 of Centuria is released! Thank you for your support! I received a comment on the cover from Tatsuki Fujimoto, the author of Chainsaw Man! I’m so happy, thank you so much!”

A well-known Shonen Jump news account highlighted, “Centuria by Tohru Kuramori comes highly recommended by Tatsuki Fujimoto (Chainsaw Man). The artist praises the series’ ‘super serious fantasy art and monster design.’ Kuramori is also a former assistant of Fujimoto.”
