Chainsaw Man: Yoru and Pochita’s Clash May Result in a Shocking Outcome and Double Elimination

Since War Devil Yoru revealed her two most powerful weapons in Chainsaw Man, fans have been speculating about the outcome of the battle between Yoru and Pochita. While many believe one of the two devils will emerge victorious, there are compelling reasons to consider that neither might win. Instead, it seems that Famine Devil Fami could be the one to claim victory.

As referenced in the series, Fami is one of the four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. However, her goal is to defeat the Death Devil alongside her sister Yoru. The complication arises from Yoru’s fixation on defeating Pochita, causing her to hesitate in utilizing her most powerful weapons. This indicates that Fami may have orchestrated circumstances in which both Pochita and Yoru must confront each other at their maximal potential.

Famine Devil sought to avert Nostradamus’ prophecy regarding the impending apocalypse initiated by the Death Devil. To achieve this, she required the assistance of her sisters. While Nayuta outright declined due to her schooling commitments, Yoru remained entirely focused on her mission to defeat Pochita. Notably, Yoru can only unleash her true strength when she employs her ultimate weapons, yet she was reluctant to use them.

As revealed in Chainsaw Man chapter 176, Yoru’s strongest children are products of her own being, and she holds them in high regard. This makes her initially hesitant to use them against Pochita. However, upon introspection, Yoru realized that her desire to defeat Pochita outweighed her affection for her children, prompting her to convert them, the Gun Devil and Tank Devil, into her weapons.

This maneuver effectively aligned with Fami’s intentions all along—empowering the War Devil to become her most formidable self to combat the Death Devil. Given that Control Devil Makima was known for her cunning schemes, it’s plausible that the current dynamics in Chainsaw Man have also been manipulated by the Famine Devil.

Therefore, it’s likely that Fami orchestrated events that empowered Asa, enabling Yoru to create weapons without direct contact. Regarding her weapons, the Gun and Tank gauntlets, Fami may have contrived a scenario where Pochita posed an insurmountable challenge for Yoru. This reliance on her children could succeed in Fami’s mission, regardless of the fight’s outcome, as long as Yoru survives.

In the confrontation between Pochita and Yoru, both characters embody the devils that have taken over the bodies of the protagonists—Asa Mitaka and Denji. Given their significance to the story, an outright death of either character seems unlikely. Thus, it is probable that their battle may end in a stalemate.

Even if one devil were to be defeated, the other might not deliver a fatal blow. Since Pochita’s demise is highly unlikely, Yoru might claim victory; however, Asa Mitaka could intervene to prevent the War Devil from killing Pochita to protect Denji. It’s worth noting that Yoru has displayed an unusual attachment to Denji because of Asa, thus ensuring that both characters might ultimately survive.
