Many were anticipating the downfall of Ryomen Sukuna in Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 264 after Hana Kurusu appeared on the battlefield and activated Jacob’s Ladder. Despite the developments in Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 264 that seemed to give Sukuna the upper hand in the fight, the battle against him continued. However, the end of the chapter left fans with a glimmer of hope for Yuji Itadori and his team. This was due to the protagonist’s use of a new ability, although the chapter did not provide much information on it.

Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 264: Checkmate…?

Chapter 264 of Jujutsu Kaisen begins by showcasing Hana Kurusu, Ryomen Sukuna, Yuji Itadori, and Aoi Todo. Sukuna proceeds to punch the ground, causing debris to scatter into the air. He uses these pieces as stepping stones, climbing the Jacob’s Ladder towards Hana. Sukuna notes that this ladder’s properties will also impact Todo and Yuji, allowing him to reach Angel and Hana without any hindrance by ascending upwards.

Angel had just told Hana to fall back, but it was too late. Sukuna had already appeared behind them. He noted that Angel and Hana’s coexistence in the latter’s body made them vulnerable, citing the loss of Hana’s arm as evidence of their weakened Cursed Technique. Sukuna then vowed to kill Angel before he was forcibly removed from Megumi Fushiguro’s body, readying himself to launch an attack.

In chapter 264 of Jujutsu Kaisen, Todo surprisingly appears and takes a punch from Sukuna that was intended for Hana. This punch turns out to be a powerful Black Flash, impressing Sukuna and earning Todo praise as a true jujutsu sorcerer. Both Todo and Sukuna are seen smiling before the impact of the punch knocks them both out. Sukuna then decides to turn his attention to Yuji, leaving Hana and Angel at his mercy.

In that instant, Yuji emerges from behind Sukuna, determined to pursue him despite the dangers of Jacob’s Ladder. Yuji successfully strikes Sukuna with a punch and then proceeds to grab him by the feet, throwing him through a nearby building. Yuji quickly follows and uses Dismantle to collapse the ground beneath Sukuna. However, Sukuna’s arms regenerate unexpectedly, catching Yuji off guard and allowing Sukuna to land a devastating blow.

In chapter 264 of Jujutsu Kaisen, the narrator reveals that Sukuna was able to regain his Reverse Cursed Technique by unleashing another Black Flash. Sukuna realizes that he doesn’t need to be as daring as Satoru Gojo, as his own Cursed Technique will eventually recover. Despite this, the two continue to fight, with Yuji attempting to use his Dismantle technique to attack Sukuna’s and Megumi’s soul boundary.

Sukuna also recognizes that this is the correct strategy, as a Cursed Technique is deadly to an incarnated type like himself, but it would be pointless if it doesn’t hit its target. As they continue to fight, Sukuna maintains his confident and arrogant demeanor. However, a close-up on his eyes reveals that something has caught his attention.

The narrator goes on to clarify that Yuji was able to acquire the basics of Barrier Techniques through rigorous training with Atsuya Kusakabe, which enabled him to create his own Domain Expansion.
