In the wake of Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 269’s release, the fan community has ignited various theories concerning the anticipated developments in the final two chapters. Twitter user @BIGDADDYGOJO pointed out an intriguing detail that adds further fuel to the speculation about Satoru Gojo’s imminent return.

During the discussion on New Shadow Style among the Jujutsu Sorcerers, a panel presented a grandfather clock unexpectedly. No characters were discussing time nor did the clock exhibit any remarkable features, yet it received its own dedicated panel.

Upon analyzing the clock in the manga panel, @BIGDADDYGOJO proposed a theory. The clock indicates the time “2:21.”While the time itself does not seem noteworthy, the numerical value “221”resonates significantly, as Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 221 marks the moment of Satoru Gojo’s return from the Prison Realm.

Moreover, in the preceding chapter, a panel displayed a clock reading “1:52.”Taking into account the 29-minute difference between 1:52 and 2:21 and Satoru Gojo’s age of 29, this adds weight to the notion that he might return as the manga reaches its climax.

Gege Akutami, the creator, has woven multiple references to Buddha in relation to Gojo. Notably, Buddha departed from his home at 29 to seek enlightenment, which raises the possibility that Gojo’s death in the story might serve a similar purpose, paving the way for his eventual enlightened return.

It’s also noteworthy that in contrast to the anime, which introduced Satoru Gojo in the very first scene, the manga revealed the strongest sorcerer in chapter two. This could hint at Akutami’s intention for Gojo’s return in the penultimate chapter.

The theory may find support in the narrative pattern observed with Nobara Kugisaki, who first appeared in chapter five and returned in the fifth-to-last chapter.

According to @BIGDADDYGOJO’s theory, fans could anticipate Satoru Gojo’s return in chapter 270. The upcoming chapter is scheduled for release on Monday, September 18, 2024, promising to unveil whether this speculation holds true.
