Charli D’Amelio, who rose to fame through TikTok, is set to make her much-anticipated Broadway debut in the musical & Juliet this October.
On September 30, it was officially announced that Charli D’Amelio will take on the role of Charmian, a character known for her dance-heavy performances in the popular jukebox musical. This role marks an exciting transition for the TikTok sensation, who gained widespread popularity by sharing viral dance videos.
Unlike the tragic ending of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, & Juliet explores an alternate storyline, imagining what could occur after Juliet chooses to live rather than succumbing to despair over Romeo’s demise.
The show is scheduled to premiere on October 29, 2024, at the Sondheim Theatre in New York City, and will run until January 19, 2025.
After the announcement, the 20-year-old influencer expressed her excitement about joining the Broadway cast. In an Instagram post, she shared her enthusiasm: “I’m so incredibly excited to finally share that I’ll be joining the cast of & Juliet on Broadway!”
“This has been my ultimate dream ever since I was a little girl. It always felt like something I could only admire from afar, never imagining I’d actually be part of it. And now, here I am, embarking on this incredible new chapter and savoring every moment,” she added.
“I can hardly find the right words to express how much this means to me. I’m truly grateful to everyone who has supported me along the way; I wouldn’t be here without all of you. A huge thank you to the whole & Juliet team for letting me join such a special production. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
Following the announcement of her Broadway debut, D’Amelio’s fans took to X to celebrate her achievement.
“From TikTok to the stage, she’s about to demonstrate that she can both dance and act like a true Broadway star!” one fan exclaimed.

The musical’s soundtrack promises a blend of modern anthems, featuring hits like Kelly Clarkson’s ‘Since U Been Gone,’ Britney Spears’ ‘I’m Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman,’ Katy Perry’s ‘Roar,’ Backstreet Boys’ ‘I Want It That Way,’ and Demi Lovato’s ‘Confident.’
Having won Season 31 of Dancing With the Stars, D’Amelio’s experience with live performances is sure to aid her in seamlessly adapting to her Broadway role.
