Chilling true crime exposé from smartschoolboy9 creator is unsettling to watch

Caution: this content may be upsetting to some individuals.

While acknowledging your fear, it is important to note that the smartschoolboy9 rabbit hole is incredibly unsettling. It centers around an individual who has been masquerading as a child on multiple social media platforms and using them to share disturbing content.

Nick Crowley’s deep dive into the case has gained over 5.8 million views as of now, since it was uploaded. However, this is not the first time he has led us down a rabbit hole.

Crowley’s exploration of Joy Junction’s Ronald William Brown came after his Pipergate documentary.

If you are acquainted with the case, that name is likely to have evoked a feeling of fear.

Brown was a ventriloquist and puppeteer on Joy Junction, a Christian-themed TV program that debuted in 1979. The show’s purpose was to educate children about moral values through Bible stories and lessons based on faith.

Prior to the revelation of Brown’s crimes, his presence on the show was already causing division due to his performance alongside his ventriloquist dummy, Marty.

The true horrors that were taking place behind the scenes went unnoticed by everyone. Brown was among more than 40 other predators who were apprehended in a global child pornography operation.

The online sharing of conversations between Brown and his accomplice, Michael D. Arnett, revealed disturbing details beyond the sexual abuse. In these discussions, they openly discussed torturing, mutilating, and consuming underage victims in graphic detail.

An even more concerning aspect is that Brown’s entire profession revolved around his interaction with children. In addition to filming for Joy Junction, he would tour the country as a children’s entertainer.

During certain conversations, he would also talk about what he intended to do to a young boy he was acquainted with from his nearby church.

Brown and Arnett not only depicted scenarios in which they would torture and cook children, but they also took pleasure in the terror it would inflict upon their victims.

“Arnett commented that he was drenched in tears and feeling extremely frightened and vulnerable. In response, Brown added that he was most likely trembling and visualizing his own body being dismembered and consumed.”

The repulsive content of these messages is what elevates this case to one of the most unsettling ones possible. It was so disturbing that Crowley felt the need to only share parts of them and even stated, “I do not feel at ease with reading them aloud.”

The Sword & Scale podcast also delves into the case in Episode 20, which is so disturbing that even veteran true crime enthusiasts had a difficult time listening to it.

After Brown’s arrest in 2012, the Tampa Bay Times stated that during a search of his home by US Department of Homeland Security agents, they discovered explicit images of minors restrained and silenced, a flyer for a missing child, and “photos of children that seem to be deceased.”

Brown was eventually arrested

Despite the clear threat he posed to the community, Brown attempted to justify his actions by claiming that it was simply a fantasy and that he had no intention or capability of causing harm to anyone.

Despite being convicted of possessing child pornography and conspiring to kidnap a child, he was sentenced to 20 years in prison. According to prison records, he passed away in 2020.

Joy Junction is often referred to as “lost media.”After the Brown revelations were brought to the surface, it seems to have been intentionally erased for obvious reasons. According to Crowley, the creators have not officially released any copies of the content.

Despite the passage of time, Brown’s case remains relevant as evidenced by the 2.2 million views of the YouTuber’s documentary since its release in June.

“Although I clicked on this video with low expectations, I was still taken aback,”commented one viewer. Another remarked, “Each aspect of this story reads like a list of cliches from a bad creepypasta; it’s unbelievable that it’s based on true events.”

Another person chimed in, stating, “It’s unbelievable that people like this actually exist. It makes you wonder how many others go undetected.”
