Recently, two members of BABYMONSTER, Ruka and Ahyeon, were photographed without consent by a Chinese fan while they were out shopping. This outing was a private incident unrelated to their professional commitments.
The fan recounted how, while browsing a clothing store, they unexpectedly spotted Ahyeon and Ruka. Despite clear signals of discomfort from both the members and their manager, the fan continued to snap pictures and even shared these unauthorized shots online as a point of pride.
The fan posted on social media: “I happened to run into Yaxian (Ahyeon’s Chinese name) and Ruka. Who would have guessed… While shopping at a clothing store, I turned around and saw a tall, slim girl with a small face who looked very much like Yaxian. Seeing this, I called my friends over, but the noise we made might have been too loud, causing Yaxian and her manager to immediately put on masks. Yes, it was indeed Yaxian, and she was there with another girl, who turned out to be Ruka. Her glasses made it easy for me to recognize her as my charming little fox. I was captivated just looking at her, and Ruka was very sensitive; whenever I looked at her, she would look back at me. But as a fan of Bảo Quái (the Chinese name for BABYMONSTER), Ruka is still my bias. Later, because we were so excited, we attracted the attention of the manager, who kept staring at us, so I only managed to sneak two photos. He was really intimidating, like a tall and strong mountain, but also seemed very responsible haha… His sharp eyes made me nervous, causing the photos to come out blurry.”
The fan’s actions have sparked discontent among the fan community and observers. Many believe that invading the privacy of celebrities is unacceptable and are urging fans to respect the personal space of idols, regardless of the circumstances.
