Choi Min-hwan of F.T. Island Sends Messages to Fans During Burning Sun Scandal and Prostitution Allegations

On October 25, a post surfaced in an online community titled “Messages from Choi Min-hwan to Fans Amid the Burning Sun Scandal.”

The content of the post revealed Choi Min-hwan’s reassurances to his followers, stating, “This is nothing to worry about,” “The reports are exaggerated, which has bothered me as well,” “I have never visited Burning Sun or any similar venues, so it’s disheartening to see my name linked to it,” and “There’s no need for alarm, so please don’t be concerned.”

A fan who received these messages expressed regret over sending a cautious message in the fan group at the incident’s outbreak. The precise timing of Choi Min-hwan’s messages is not yet confirmed.

Previously, Choi Min-hwan found himself in hot water due to accusations of “address fraud,” as he allowed his home address to be used by Choi Jong-hoon, who stepped away from the entertainment scene after the Burning Sun scandals and gang-related accusations. Reports indicate that Choi Jong-hoon utilized Choi Min-hwan’s address for approximately one year in 2018, though it emerged that no actual residency had taken place, raising several questions.

According to a close friend of Choi Min-hwan, “He did lend his address, but we didn’t foresee it becoming an issue,” adding, “Choi Jong-hoon moved out about a year later, so it seems Choi Min-hwan may have forgotten about it.”

In a related turn of events, on October 24, Yulhee disclosed audio evidence alleging Choi Min-hwan’s involvement in prostitution on her YouTube channel. The tape included a segment of Choi Min-hwan’s voice inquiring of an individual, “Are there any ladies?”

In response, Choi Min-hwan’s agency, FNC Entertainment, stated, “We take responsibility for the disappointment caused to the public and viewership. We plan to halt all media engagements, including those featuring our children,” and expressed, “We sincerely apologize for the distress and concern this situation has generated.”
