Recently, the spotlight has shifted to Sean “Diddy” Combs, following his arrest amid a slew of sexual assault and misconduct lawsuits filed against him.
While several documentaries are being developed, including one from 50 Cent, Investigation Discovery has released its own title, Chris Brown: A History of Violence.
This new true crime documentary features a Jane Doe who alleges that Chris Brown raped her in 2020 while she was on Diddy’s yacht.
At that time, Doe had recently moved to Los Angeles to follow her dreams of becoming a dancer. In December, while in Miami to celebrate New Year’s with a friend, she received an invitation from an acquaintance she had met in L.A. to attend a party hosted by Diddy.
Jane Doe met Chris Brown on Diddy’s yacht
Upon arriving at the yacht, Doe recalls that there were approximately 15 people present, including Chris Brown. She considered it a fortuitous sign, hoping he could offer her guidance regarding her career.
“The only negative aspect of Chris that everyone talks about is his past abusive behavior towards Rihanna,” she remarks.
The two engaged in conversation and everything seemed pleasant until he allegedly handed her a drink. “From this point on, my memories become hazy,” she recounts.
After consuming a second drink, she began to feel fatigued and described her body as feeling “somewhat heavy.”
Brown is accused of then leading her towards a bedroom area, to which she recalls, “I remember lying back and thinking, ‘Why can’t I get up?’ The next thing I knew, he was on top of me.”
“I was unable to move. I said no, and then I felt him… and suddenly he was inside me… I was just filled with disgust,” she added.
Subsequent to this encounter, Doe alleges that Brown took her phone and sent a text to himself to keep their numbers.
“Many girls might be thrilled, thinking, ‘Oh my god, I just had sex with Chris Brown.’ But I did not want that,” she expresses.
After leaving the yacht, Brown allegedly messaged her suggesting she take a Plan B.
Initially in denial about the incident, Doe continued her interactions with Brown. It was only after seeking therapy that she began to comprehend the reality of what had transpired.
Levi McCarthern, Brown’s attorney, issued a statement to the producers of Chris Brown: A History of Violence, categorically denying the allegations as “completely fabricated.”
A year following the alleged assault, another woman emerged with similar claims, prompting the creation of an advocacy website.
After leaving a comment on this site, Doe was contacted by a legal team that determined there was sufficient evidence to pursue a case.
They initiated a lawsuit and went public, drawing significant media attention. Although she remained anonymous, critics suggested that Doe was seeking “attention” and “money.”
Developments took a different direction when Brown’s team provided text messages to the police, suggesting that Doe had been sending a barrage of texts without receiving replies.
“The communications presented by him only show one side, and she’s been texting a non-responsive phone from late January through to August,” stated Doe’s lawyer, Ariel Mitchell.
Doe responded, “The way he shared the messages made it look like I was texting myself… but that wasn’t the case.”
Mitchell disclosed that Doe had given her alternative text messages, which included “deleted messages from Chris.”

“He wasn’t simply ignoring her. He was maintaining communication. However, it was challenging to ascertain the authenticity of the various message threads,” she remarked.
Ultimately, the Miami Beach Police concluded that there was “no probable cause for an arrest,” resulting in the case being closed.
Despite Doe being dropped from her legal representation due to the text message issue, Mitchell has now confirmed to People that she is once again advocating for her.
In a statement to the publication, the attorney said, “I care deeply for my client and I fully believe her account is entirely true. I feel I failed her as her attorney because I couldn’t ensure she felt completely at ease with me to share openly.”
