CJ from GTA San Andreas Makes a Comeback in Black Myth Wukong Mod

Here we go again! CJ from Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is now playable in the PC version of Black Myth: Wukong, thanks to a mod that swaps out The Destined One for a gangbanger from Grove Street.

Black Myth: Wukong features the incredible monkey warrior known as The Destined One, but even the greatest fighter in the realm isn’t enough for the vibrant modding community.

Websites like Nexus Mods host a variety of mods for Black Myth: Wukong that replace The Destined One with iconic characters like Tifa from Final Fantasy VII, Goku from Dragon Ball, and Deadpool from Marvel Comics.

One notable mod for Black Myth: Wukong replaces The Destined One with CJ from Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, reconstructed in all his PS2-era blocky charm and wielding an AK-47 instead of a magical staff. You can check out a video showcasing the mod in action on the

Furthermore, this mod not only replaces The Destined One with CJ but also transforms Erlang, the Sacred Destiny, into Big Smoke, a notorious antagonist from San Andreas.

The exact cause of their conflict in this game is unclear, but it’s possible that The Destined One has pilfered two number 9s, a number 9 large, a number 6 with extra dip, a number 7, two number 45s (one with cheese), and a large soda.

While this CJ mod isn’t publicly available just yet, another version can be downloaded through the Silence Exterminator Patreon. This does require a paid subscription, but it also provides mods allowing you to take on the roles of characters like Gear 5 Luffy from One Piece and Clive Rosfield from Final Fantasy XVI.

It’s quite unlikely that CJ will return in an official capacity, considering that the Grand Theft Auto series seldom revisits old protagonists. Thus, it falls upon the fans to keep the essence of Grove Street alive by resurrecting him in mods, even if it means he has to go on a nostalgic rampage through the olden days.
