According to insiders familiar with the developments, Cloud9 New York is focusing on assembling a Black Ops 6 roster that includes a premier assault rifle (AR) duo to spearhead their competitive efforts.
Following extensive speculation during the offseason, including a reported transfer involving the French standout Paco ‘HyDra’ Rusiewiez moving to LA Thieves, the new squad in New York seems to have identified the four players they wish to recruit.
If everything goes as planned, the lone player from last season’s roster that they aim to retain is Daunte ‘Sib’ Gray.
While Sib was undeniably the second-best player on the previous team, there was a widespread belief in the community that he would secure a transfer away, especially with Cloud9 retaining Matthew ‘KiSMET’ Tinsley and Cesar ‘Skyz’ Bueno.
However, that is not the case.
Joining Sib will be Dillon ‘Attach’ Price as his assault rifle partner, while they also seek to bring in Dylan ‘Nero’ Koch and Kyle ‘Kremp’ Howarth as their submachine gun (SMG) companions.
Attach clearly has plenty left in the tank.
During the 2024 season, Attach recorded the fifth highest kill-death ratio (KD) in the Call of Duty League (CDL), trailing behind elite performers like Cellium, Scrap, HyDra, and Simp. He particularly excelled in Search & Destroy with a solid 1.16 KD.
Nero partnered with Attach on Vegas Legion in 2024 and stands out as one of the best free agents available, while Kremp showcased significant improvement throughout the 2024 season, concluding the year with a 4th place finish at the CDL Championship and a 2nd place at the Esports World Cup.
As of now, the roster is not yet finalized, with Cloud9 needing to find new homes for KiSMET and Skyz to avoid losing them without compensation. Since both players are still under contract, if this new team formation doesn’t materialize, it’s possible they could remain with the New York franchise.
Although discussions about their future teams are promising, no agreements have been finalized, leaving these moves uncertain at the moment.
