Cobra Kai will continue the Karate Kid saga on Netflix, and viewers just got the biggest announcement for season 6 yet.
Netflix unveiled its new program for 2024 at the beginning of February, and we can already count on the return of some of its most anticipated series this year. Season 2 of Squid Game, The Bridgerton Chronicles, The Umbrella Academy: there will be something for everyone! Including for those who prefer fighting and martial values.
Because another series is going to hit quickly and hard (and mercilessly): Cobra Kai, the sequel to Karate Kid. A vibrant blend of nostalgia and humor, while offering a new perspective on the classic cinema franchise: these are the intentions of this series. And it works: we are already (only?) in the sixth season!
Unfortunately, this season 6 will also be the last. But the good news is that it’s coming soon – and until now, Netflix hasn’t shared an update this big.
Netflix shares biggest announcement yet for Cobra Kai season 6
On February 5, in its YouTube trailers, Netflix informed its subscribers that filming for season 6 of Cobra Kai had officially begun.
In the description of the video, we can read: “a message for the most badass fans: we are delighted to resume production to film the most important, most badass, final season of Cobra Kai! See you in the dojo.”
The footage shows Ralph Macchio, William Zabka and the rest of the cast sharing their excitement about starting filming, while also highlighting the “bittersweet”feeling that this is the final chapter. The cast reveals that they have “worked hard,” to prepare viewers for what “will be the most important and badass season to date.” Notice to fans: there will be many “surprises”!
Cobra Kai season 6 does not yet have an official release date, but predictions estimate a release for late 2024, early 2025 on Netflix.
