Cobra Kai’s conclusion is approaching, and according to an announcement on the Netflix Media Center, it seems that the release date for Season 6 Part 3 has been revealed.
Despite being a major success for Netflix, the Karate Kid spinoff Cobra Kai is now entering its final stretch after airing for just over five seasons.
The release schedule for Season 6 has been rather unusual as the creators have opted to tell the final few stories across 15 episodes instead of the usual 10 from previous seasons.
This resulted in the initial five episodes of Season 6 being released on July 18, coinciding with Netflix’s announcement of the next five episodes’ release date of November 15. However, the exact release date of the remaining five episodes remained unknown, until now.
According to the Netflix Media Center, the release date for Part 3 of Season 6, consisting of episodes 11-15, is set for February 13, 2024 at 3am EST. An observant Redditor captured the date from a screenshot, although there has been no official announcement or confirmation from other sources.
The gap between parts has left fans feeling frustrated, with one individual expressing, “It would have been better if it was released on January first. This delay is really dampening the momentum.”
One person also commented, stating, “Although it has been confirmed, there is still a significant delay. It is shocking that some suggested the season would end in May. A 15-episode season lasting 10 months is far too lengthy.”
One individual suggests, “Instead of dividing Season 6 into separate parts with long intervals in between, why not stick to a weekly release schedule for each episode? This way, we won’t risk forgetting important details in between parts.”
The Future of Cobra Kai
However, the timing is fitting for the main plot, as a new Karate Kid film featuring Ralph Macchio and Jackie Chan is set to be released in theaters next May. This undoubtedly implies that the remaining episodes will lay the foundation for the upcoming movie.
