Cobra Kai Season 6 release date revealed — but there’s a big catch

The release date for Season 6 of Cobra Kai has been announced by Netflix after much anticipation. However, there is a small detail to keep in mind.

In recent months, Netflix revealed its 2024 lineup, generating anticipation with the announcement that the sixth and final season of the Karate Kid sequel series would be arriving this year.

The streaming service has just announced a new update for fans of Cobra Kai. Instead of the usual 10 episodes, Season 6 will consist of a whopping 15 episodes. However, these will be released in three installments, each containing five episodes, starting this summer and ending in 2025. This exciting news has fans eagerly anticipating the upcoming seasons.

The initial five episodes will debut on July 18, followed by the second on November 28. The last set of episodes is scheduled to be released in 2025, although the specific date has not yet been revealed.

As part of a teaser, Netflix has released the news, which can be viewed below:

The Season 6 logline reveals that it will begin with Cobra Kai being removed from the valley. The senseis and students are faced with the decision of how they will participate in the Sekai Taikai, the world championships of karate.

The teaser features Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) overseeing his students as he proclaims, “I enjoy the scent of karate in the afternoon.”We are then shown a training session between LaRusso, Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka), and Chozen Toguchi (Yuji Okumoto), along with scenes of the students celebrating and engaging in combat. The teaser concludes with John Kreese (Martin Kove) smoking a cigar and declaring, “Cobra Kai has returned.”

Some fans are expressing dissatisfaction with the choice to split the sixth chapter into three parts. One fan wrote, “I dislike this ‘Part’ concept. I will not watch until all parts are available on Netflix.”

Despite some mixed comments, the overall sentiment towards the show’s final season is one of excitement. One viewer wrote, “Every season from 2018 to 2024 has been outstanding.”Another commented, “We can’t wait for the return of Cobra Kai.”A third fan expressed their bittersweet feelings, stating, “Although I hate to see it end, I can’t wait for Season 6.”
