In 2024, a new CoD is expected, and much of the information on this next part has already leaked. Set to be a new Black Ops, here’s everything we know so far about Call of Duty 2024.

A new year means a new Call of Duty game, and while players are still enjoying all the content from MW3 and Warzone, rumors and leaks regarding Call of Duty 2024 are starting to emerge.

Although not expected until the end of the year, MW3’s successor is expected to bring players back into the Black Ops series.

So let’s dive into all the information we know so far about CoD 2024, including the game’s title, developers, background, Zombies mode, and more.

Expected title of Call of Duty 2024

Call of Duty 2024 is set to be titled Call of Duty: Black Ops Gulf War, according to Windows Central and Insider Gaming. Of course, plans can always change, but for now, this is the only known name we have.

After the previous Black Ops which took place during the Cold War, the development team is expected to continue navigating through historical events.

Call of Duty 2024 release window

Call of Duty 2024 is expected to launch in October 2024 after Inverse reported that Xbox’s Phil Spencer informed employees “that it would be safe to assume another Call of Duty would be released in October.”Insider Gaming also reported this information.

This fits into the usual release pattern, with recent Call of Duty games typically arriving in late October or early November.

Developer of Call of Duty 2024

It is almost confirmed that Treyarch will develop Call of Duty 2024. The return of Treyarch as the core development team was first reported by Bloomberg on January 22, 2023 and was corroborated by multiple sources.

However, Raven Software is also expected to take part in the development of the game, as reported by Insider Gaming, the team behind Warzone is expected to take over the CoD 2024 campaign.

Background and time period of Call of Duty 2024

Following leaked Warzone Mobile files referencing the Battle of Mogadishu, Windows Central’s report revealed that Call of Duty 2024 is set to “take place during the Gulf War “and will be “focused on the CIA… examining the role of United States in the conflict” .

According to their report, the next Black Ops could “dive back into the traditional military combat technology and arsenal familiar from Black Ops rather than the current, near-future technology we’ve seen in Modern Warfare and some other recent titles from Call of Duty.”

Call of Duty 2024 campaign details

On February 5, Insider Gaming shared several details regarding the CoD 2024 campaign. Developed by Raven Software, the campaign is expected to offer a Far Cry-style open-world experience, including fast travel systems and vehicles.

Additionally, Insider Gaming’s report noted that the game “will see the return of some Black Ops characters,”including Adler, who was one of the main characters in 2020’s Black Ops Cold War story.

Call of Duty 2024 Early Access

According to Windows Central’s report, Activision is discussing a “significant early access bonus for pre-orders “for Call of Duty 2024, which could include “multiple days for the base game, and perhaps even weeks for the access to other modes.

As early as MW2, Activision allowed players to access the campaign a week early, but now the studio may attempt to offer players the opportunity to access the full game and certain modes much earlier, thus encouraging pre-orders of the game.

Call of Duty 2024 Zombies Mode Leaks

Return of the classic round system & Outbreak 2

The Windows Central report also shared that with the announced return of Treyarch for Call of Duty 2024, the classic rounds system of Zombies mode is also expected to make a comeback.

Although MW3’s Zombies mode has received generally positive reception, fans are hoping to revisit a traditional Zombies experience in survival mode, an area in which Treyarch is considered the founding father.

Additionally, content creator MrDalekJD shared leaks regarding this mode for Call of Duty 2024, claiming that there could be two maps with a sleeve system when it launches, as well as a separate mode.

Leaker ‘alanthethird_90’ also shared a code that referenced similar elements of MW3’s Zombies mode, suggesting that the open-world mining format could return alongside the classic format.

Alongside the channel which alluded to the Battle of Mogadishu, leaker Reality shared Call of Duty 2024 concepts found in Warzone Mobile files.

These concepts show what appear to be two maps in development. The first is a map called ‘Stealth’ and appears to feature a US military base in a desert area.

Some fans here might recognize what appears to be the Lockheed F-117 Nighthawk stealth bomber in the hangar, giving further evidence of a 1990s setting.

The second map is named ‘Pillage’ and shows soldiers entering what appears to be a war-ravaged mansion or palace.

Keep in mind that with Call of Duty 2024 still in development, and therefore, these designs may have been abandoned or heavily modified before the game’s launch.

After MW2, Warzone and MW3, each future Call of Duty game will be developed under “a unified engine” which is an advanced version of the IW engine.

Speaking to the Washington Post, Call of Duty general manager Johanna Faries confirmed that while the next Black Ops will be on the same engine as the Modern Warfare titles, it will be different so that Treyarch games feel like games Treyarch and MW games feel like Modern Warfare.
