Several Call of Duty champions, including Dashy and Shotzzy from OpTic Texas, have shared their candid first impressions of the maps in Black Ops 6, and it’s evident that they aren’t overly impressed with the current lineup.
The design and layout of maps play a crucial role in the appeal of every Call of Duty installment, significantly influencing players’ overall enjoyment and experiences.
Take Black Ops 2, for instance; this game is often regarded as one of the greatest entries in the franchise. A significant reason for this acclaim is its memorable maps.
However, preliminary reactions to Black Ops 6 indicate that its map offerings may not measure up to the high benchmarks set by Treyarch. Top-tier players have echoed this sentiment.
Dashy expressed his dissatisfaction bluntly, stating, “We have no maps this year, bro.” He critiqued the quality of the maps, calling them “horrible,” while suggesting that reintroducing some classic maps from Black Ops 4 could improve the game.
He pointed out titles like Arsenal and Frequency as strong candidates for inclusion.
Shotzzy supported Dashy’s views, remarking, “we literally have none” in terms of usable maps, noted that typically, they could manage with three or four viable options.

In a similar vein, Simp from Atlanta FaZe remarked that the maps felt “one-dimensional,” comparing them unfavorably to MW2’s Al Bagra Fortress, which isn’t exactly a glowing critique.
It’s not just the professionals voicing their concerns; casual gamers are also sharing their displeasure over the map choices, expressing feelings of being “not enthused” or “excited” about the current offerings.
