This highly anticipated location is set to make its debut in the upcoming Season 1 Reloaded update, scheduled for release on December 5.

Interestingly, fans speculate that the developers may have drawn from historical references, particularly the fortified city of Carcassonne in France, renowned for its rich and tumultuous past.

On November 23, MrRoflWaffles expressed his excitement on Twitter regarding a visit to the city that inspired the new Zombies setting. The following day, the UK-based streamer journeyed to France and began sharing captivating images from his adventures in Carcassonne.

His photographs reveal striking similarities between the historic Cité de Carcassonne and the Avalon backdrop of Black Ops 6. His exploration highlights how the game’s developers have indeed borrowed elements from this medieval city.

Among his findings was a medieval well that he humorously suggested could serve as an ideal hiding spot for the elusive Pack-a-Punch machine in Zombies mode.

While Activision has yet to officially confirm that Citadelle des Morts was inspired by the French city, the visual parallels are impossible to overlook. As the launch date approaches, players can look forward to discovering more about this intriguing fictional location and its possible historical connections.

The map’s introduction will allow players to engage with ongoing storylines that stem from the events of the Terminus Main Quest, enhancing the overall gaming experience.
