Cody Ko has taken action in response to the allegations made against him by Tana Mongeau. However, instead of directly addressing the issue, he has chosen to step away from TMG Studios.
In the weeks following Mongeau’s allegations, Cody Ko witnessed a decrease of 300,000 subscribers as his fans expressed their dissatisfaction.
As of the current writing, Ko’s most recent video was published on June 21, 2024, and has been overwhelmed with dislikes and negative remarks following the allegations.
Despite releasing a letter through TMG Studios, his podcast platform, in response to the controversy, Cody Ko’s statement has not been effective in calming viewers’ worries and does not directly address the alleged actions he has been accused of.
Cody Ko resigns from TMG Studios
TMG (Tiny Meat Gang) Studios is a podcast collective that showcases not only Cody Ko’s shows, but also various other creators who produce their own podcasts. Although TMG encompasses more than just Cody Ko, he remains an essential component of the platform.
In addition, TMG offers a subscription-based section of the website where members can access exclusive content, join a private Discord community, and receive early access to merchandise, among other benefits.
This paywall allows users to access the site’s feed, where Cody Ko’s statement is published. However, while the statement can be viewed by free users, only those who have paid to bypass the paywall can leave comments and view the responses from other members.
Here is the statement from Cody Ko and his co-host Noel Miller:
Despite being signed by both Noel and Cody, only a fraction of the statement pertains to Tana Mongeau’s allegations.
“As we move forward with our studio, we wanted to inform you that Cody will not be actively participating in the daily operations at TMG Studios,”the letter states. “Recent events have caused Cody to prioritize addressing a personal matter and he wants to avoid any negative impact it may have on your work and relationships, as well as the success of TMG Studios that you and our other hosts have contributed to.”
Despite the allegations, Cody Ko did not directly address them. Instead, he acknowledged their existence and made the decision to temporarily step away from the studio due to their implications.
Despite not directly addressing Mongeau, many people were disappointed and remain skeptical about Cody’s current involvement with TMG.
One Twitter user speculated that if he were no longer with the company, it would have been announced. However, they believe he will still continue to make a profit from the company’s success.
Similarly, the situation was likened to The Try Guys scandal, in which Ned Fulmer was entirely ousted from the company and edited out of any unreleased videos.
“According to their statement, The Try Guys clearly stated that all relationships with Ned were terminated upon his departure. While Cody Ko will still be involved in the production, he will not be making any on-camera appearances and will instead be profiting behind the scenes.”
Despite Cody Ko stepping away from “day-to-day”operations, TMG Studios has not provided clarification on his current status with the company.
Cody Ko voice acted for Cut show ‘The Button’, and, though a version of these videos can still be watched on his channel, Cut has removed every crossover.
Furthermore, the YouTube channel Cut has discreetly taken down all of their collaborative videos with the YouTuber after he made a guest appearance on their shows.
In addition to this statement, Cody Ko has remained quiet in the weeks following the spread of Tana Mongeau’s accusations.
