Exploring Allegations Against Song Mino’s Military Service Conduct

On December 27th at 9 PM, SBS’s program, “Curious Stories Y,” will investigate the claims of negligence regarding Song Mino‘s alternative military service. Since commencing his duties as a public service worker in March of the previous year, the artist has found himself embroiled in controversy following his discharge.

Alleged Negligence During Service

As reports emerge, it has been alleged that Song Mino neglected to fulfill his responsibilities at a local resident convenience facility, failing to report properly to his designated workplace. The allegations raise significant questions about his conduct during his service period, creating a media whirlwind.

Insights from a Colleague

The production team of “Curious Stories Y” obtained insights from a former colleague of Song Mino, referred to as Seong-hyun, who worked alongside him for approximately a year. During this time, Song Mino was reportedly responsible for assisting civil petitioners and managing notifications at a public corporation dealing with parking lots and convenience facilities.

Seong-hyun brought attention to several concerning elements of Song Mino’s work ethic. He alleged that Song frequently evaded phone calls and face-to-face interactions, citing his celebrity status as a hindrance. Seong-hyun stated, “He avoided phone duties because his name would be revealed” and “He also shied away from direct engagement with patrons, fearing they might recognize him.”

Frequent Absences and Travel During Service

Additionally, Song Mino’s pattern of utilizing vacation and sick leave has been noted, leading to extended periods away from his duties. Notably, on his discharge date, December 23rd, he once again called in sick and failed to report to work. Questions arise as to whether personal circumstances may explain these actions.

Song Mino has previously revealed struggles with panic disorder and bipolar disorder on a broadcast, prompting adjustments to his work schedule to ease his burden. His start time was shifted to 10 AM and his shift ended at 7 PM. However, skepticism grew when it was publicized that he attended his younger sibling’s wedding in San Francisco during May of last year and traveled to Hawaii in October.

Potential Conflicts of Interest

Further investigations into Song Mino’s case have unearthed more questionable details. A year into his alternative service at the Mapo Facility Management Corporation, he transferred to a resident convenience facility in March 2024. Complicating matters, the supervisor who managed Song Mino also made a similar transfer in February, raising eyebrows about potential favoritism or undue influence.
