College Football 25 Player Ratings Update Reveals New Top Overall Player

EA has announced a new player ratings update, elevating Travis Hunter to a remarkable 97 overall, making him the top-rated player in College Football 25.

As we reach the midway point of the 2024 College Football season, numerous teams have positioned themselves favorably for a chance at the inaugural 12-team playoffs, while several Heisman Trophy contenders have surfaced.

Among those who received rating improvements are Travis Hunter, Ashton Jeanty, Cam Ward, Nico Lamaleava, and Jihaad Campbell, all of whom have showcased exceptional performances thus far. With Hunter’s upgrade to a 97 overall, he has surpassed Will Johnson, who is rated at 96 overall.

EA Sports has yet to disclose the specific changes to player ratings, but fans can anticipate accessing the player rating database again soon. Once it is available, players of College Football 25 are expected to utilize new teams in head-to-head matchups and select new schools to rebuild in Dynasty mode.

Travis Hunter continues to impress as a two-way player, excelling in both offensive and defensive roles. He may have already delivered his Heisman moment by forcing a critical fumble at the goal line, securing an incredible overtime victory for Colorado against Baylor.

In his subsequent game, Hunter logged nine receptions for 89 yards and one touchdown, alongside an interception in a standout defensive performance. Acknowledging his exceptional season, Hunter celebrated with the Heisman pose during the match.

Ashton Jeanty of Boise State has made a strong argument for the Heisman as well, accumulating 845 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns on just 82 carries. Jeanty’s highlight reel continues to grow, as he averages an astonishing 10.3 yards per carry.

Meanwhile, Miami narrowly escaped a potential last-second defeat against Virginia Tech thanks to a controversial Hail Mary pass, maintaining their unbeaten streak. Much of this success is credited to senior quarterback Cam Ward, who has consistently thrown for over 300 yards and at least three touchdowns in every game.

Though he hasn’t had a standout performance yet, freshman quarterback Nico Lamaleava from Tennessee has shown glimpses of brilliance with his agility and impressive deep ball accuracy.

On the defensive end, Jihaad Campbell is establishing himself as one of the premier linebackers in College Football, currently boasting 19 solo tackles and one interception.

For those reopening CFB 25 for the first time in a while, be sure to check out the updates made in the latest ratings release.
