The presence of Adaptive AI in College Football 25 can greatly impact the experience in Dynasty mode, requiring players to quickly adapt to the AI’s behavior.
In the realm of College Football, 25 players are granted full autonomy over their Dynasty experience, which includes the ability to adjust the intelligence of the computer-controlled opponents to their liking.
In Dynasty mode, EA grants players the freedom to craft their own journey. Utilizing Team Builder, players have the ability to design custom jerseys, stadiums, and players for their own school. Within Dynasty, users are also able to relocate conferences, create their own schedules, and manually adjust sliders to ensure evenly-matched opponents.
Players also have the option to modify the difficulty of their opponents through Adaptive AI, in addition to using sliders.
How Does Adaptive AI Work?
The feature of Adaptive AI in Dynasty mode determines the level of responsiveness and adaptability of the CPU throughout a game.
EA provided details on the functionality of the feature in Madden 24, stating that the run defense AI will now be able to recognize and respond to repeated plays by the offense in a more realistic manner. This means that defenses will begin to anticipate and adjust to repetitive run plays, as they will be able to detect when a team continuously runs the same play from the same formation. As a result, defenders will quickly fill their assigned gaps and make tackles as soon as the ball is snapped. This feature, however, will not affect play-action run plays.
EA’s description of Adaptive AI in Madden also includes the use of ‘Alert’ Logic. This means that computer-controlled teams will adjust their strategies on both offense and defense, choosing to either pass or run depending on the situation. Repeatedly using the same play will result in penalties for players.
The addition of the feature in College Football 25 builds upon the mechanics utilized in Madden by EA. In Dynasty mode, players of CFB 25 have the option to select Adaptive AI as either Balanced, Aggressive, or Conservative.
Recommended Adaptive AI Setting for College Football 25
Aggressive is the optimal Adaptive AI setting for playing College Football 25. Several players on social media have expressed dissatisfaction with the difficulty of the Heisman level, so changing the Adaptive AI to Aggressive while keeping the All-American difficulty can provide a suitable middle ground.
The AI opponents in Aggressive Adaptive mode will continuously adapt and challenge players, requiring them to step out of their comfort zone and make adjustments in their play choices.
Moreover, the Aggressive AI challenges players to outwit their opponent and employ strategic changes in order to emerge victorious in the constantly evolving chess game, similar to the role of a football coach. Repeatedly using the same tactics becomes monotonous and does not offer enough difficulty.
