Min Hee-jin’s Stance Clarifies Rumors Surrounding Company D
There has been speculation that Min Hee-jin, the former CEO of ADOR, was in talks to join Company D. However, she recently addressed these rumors directly, stating that she has not met with any investors, including representatives from Company D.
Shift in Director Candidate Registration
According to Woman Economy on November 13, five candidates, including Lee, were slated for registration as internal directors at Company D. The company had intended to present these candidates during an extraordinary general meeting this month. Surprisingly, this motion was retracted at the last minute.
Details on Director Candidates
Reports indicated that one of the candidates, Lee, who is associated with Company H and is a Hanyang University alumnus, is rumored to be related to NewJeans member Hyein (real name: Lee Hyein). Another candidate, Park, has been involved in organizing NewJeans’ events in Japan.
Company D’s public filings with the Financial Supervisory Service illustrate a significant restructuring, as the company withdrew its initial five internal director candidates and introduced seven new ones.
Background on Candidate Listings and Changes
The filings confirmed Lee’s credentials as a graduate of Hanyang University and chairman of Company H, corroborating Woman Economy’s findings. Both Lee and Park had initially appeared on the candidate list on October 2. Lee’s appointment was scheduled for consideration at the extraordinary shareholder meeting on November 8, which has now been postponed twice, with the new meeting dates set for November 20 and 26.
Interestingly, the timing of these candidate changes aligns with Min Hee-jin’s recent denials regarding investment involvement, raising questions about any potential connections.
Min Hee-jin’s Denials and Company D’s Reaction
On November 5, Min Hee-jin issued a formal statement categorically denying any claims of entering negotiations or agreements regarding investments, labeling the rumors as “groundless.” She dismissed speculations that she would be leaving ADOR to join another entity.
NewJeans’ Official Request
Just two days following Min Hee-jin’s denial, Company D made their announcement about replacing the internal director candidates, including Lee. As of now, the relationship between Company D and Min Hee-jin remains unclear, particularly concerning Lee’s rumored familial ties to her.
On November 13, NewJeans delivered a certified letter to ADOR, demanding the return of Min Hee-jin. They asserted that if this request is not honored, they would terminate their exclusive contract with the company. The letter reportedly dismissed the unfounded rumors circulating about the families of NewJeans members.
NewJeans also emphasized, “There are currently unfounded rumors circulating about the families and relatives of NewJeans members, but NewJeans has no connection to these rumors.” This statement seeks to clarify any misconceptions surrounding their members and their families.
