Since the beginning of the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga, the main character Boruto has refrained from using his Karma. Despite speculation from fans that he simply didn’t need to use it, the most recent chapter of the manga suggests a possible reason for his avoidance of Karma.
Despite the invasion of the God Trees in the Hidden Leaf Village, the protagonist bravely returned to his hometown to confront the antagonists. However, his mission was unexpectedly interrupted by Kawaki, who challenged his adoptive brother to a fight. In the midst of their clash, the protagonist’s karma was triggered by Kawaki’s karma activation, causing him to flee in order to protect himself.
Please be aware that this article includes spoilers from the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex and Jujutsu Kaisen manga.
How can Momoshiki take over Boruto’s body like Sukuna took over Megumi’s?
As readers have witnessed in the manga, Momoshiki Otsutsuki has the ability to possess his host’s body if the protagonist is defeated or rendered unconscious. This leaves the host defenseless, giving Momoshiki the opportunity to control the body and act at his own discretion.
Despite taking advantage of these opportunities, Momoshiki has managed to impale Sasuke Uchiha’s Rinnegan eye and put Naruto Uzumaki’s life in danger. As a result, the Hidden Leaf Village even saw Boruto as a potential danger, leading Naruto to contemplate the idea of ending his own son’s life.
Luckily, Amado’s medications proved to be useful, aiding the main character in slowing down his Otsutsufication.
Previously, the circumstances were different. The main character was transforming into an Otsutsuki, but now he is fully one. As a result, Boruto’s use of his karma would leave him susceptible.
It is possible that this is the reason why the main character chose to flee from Kawaki in the ninth chapter of the manga, as their karma resonated with each other.
Despite this, it can be confidently stated that Momoshiki Otsutsuki retains the ability to possess his host. Although this could potentially pose a significant threat, as fans are aware, the protagonist possesses a formidable determination. Therefore, it may prove challenging for Momoshiki to completely dominate Megumi.
Momoshiki could take some lessons from Jujutsu Kaisen’s Ryomen Sukuna, who managed to gain full control over Megumi Fushiguro’s body as the King of Curses.
As Sukuna possessed Megumi’s body, the jujutsu sorcerer attempted to ward off the King of Curses and stop him from taking control.
As a result, Sukuna’s plan was to dominate Megumi’s soul by forcing him to relinquish control of his body. To achieve this, Sukuna deliberately harmed Tsumiki Fushiguro, the person Megumi cared for deeply.
During that period, Yorozu had taken control of Tsumiki’s body. As a result, Sukuna chose to inflict pain on Yorozu as a means of indirectly harming Tsumiki.
In the midst of all this, Sukuna had seized control of Megumi’s body, causing the jujutsu sorcerer to feel utterly hopeless as he watched himself commit the unspeakable act of killing his own sister. As a result, Megumi’s soul was overcome by despair, ultimately granting Sukuna complete dominion over his physical form.
Hence, if Momoshiki were to gain control of the protagonist’s body, he could potentially employ Ryomen Sukuna’s strategy of dominating his host. In order to achieve this, the Otsutsuki may follow Sukuna’s course of action by harming the host’s cherished sibling, in this case, Himawari Uzumaki, just like Sukuna did.
Despite his strong will, the protagonist could still succumb to despair if he were to witness himself torturing and killing his own little sister.
