In the late hours of August 18, a post titled “Kim Chae-won’s Love for Winter”was uploaded on the popular Korean forum Pann Nate. It quickly gained traction and as of August 19, it has garnered over 158,000 views, drawing significant attention from readers.
The subject at hand featured a collection of images comparing the styling of aespa’s Winter and LE SSERAFIM’s Chaewon, highlighting noticeable similarities in their hair styles and exact hair colors.
Despite Chaewon’s style consistently appearing later, there are suspicions that HYBE intentionally has the LE SSERAFIM member imitate Winter.
Consequently, criticisms begin to flood in, with many arguing that the resemblances are too uncanny to be dismissed as mere chance.
Displayed below are a few remarks from Korean internet users:
- There was no other case where specific members overlapped like that, so we can’t say that all idols do these styles…
- Some say that all idols have the same style. However, there are unique styles like the different hime cut and bun combination and the oddly-placed bleached hair…
- It’s just impossible to defend this level of copying anymore…
- There’s something seriously wrong with HYBE… to copy another person to this level is weird as hell…
- All of this really resemble Winter to the point it’s creepy
