The Prestige system has made its comeback in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, reminiscent of earlier versions where players have the option to reset their rank and essentially start anew. This guide will detail what items you retain and what you lose when you rank up, so here’s what you need to know about Prestiging in Black Ops 6.
How to Access the Prestige System in Black Ops 6
To initiate Prestige in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, players must first achieve level 55, which is the highest rank available. As seen in past iterations of Call of Duty, players will unlock an array of weapons and loadouts during their climb to this level.
You can find the Prestige system within the Progression menu under the Barracks tab. In this section, players can view all of the rewards available for the initial 55 levels, as well as those across the 10 Prestige ranks. Each Prestige rank offers various rewards, including loading screens, cosmetic skins, and weapon blueprints.
What Does Prestige Achieve in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6?
Once players activate Prestige after reaching level 55, it will reset their rank to level 1. All previously unlocked items will be inaccessible, meaning players must earn their weapons and perks again from the ground up.
However, players will earn one Permanent Unlock upon Prestiging, allowing them to permanently unlock any single item from the previous 55 levels. It’s advisable to choose items found at higher levels to access them sooner. A total of 10 Permanent Unlocks can be obtained, one for each Prestige.
The following items remain intact after Prestiging:
- Weapon blueprints, camos, progression, and reticles
- Saved weapon loadouts will be restored after you reach level 4
- Progress on challenges
- Cosmetic items obtained from unlocks, the in-game Store, or the Battle Pass
- Zombies GobbleGums
