In Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, Automatons serve as robotic allies that replicate real-world foes such as Moblins and Tektites. Unlike traditional enemies, Automatons possess distinct abilities that elevate them above standard Echoes.
Some Automatons come armed with area-of-effect (AoE) explosives that can incinerate opponents, while others offer generous rupee rewards. If you’re keen on enhancing Zelda’s capabilities, collecting every Automaton is essential.
How to Unlock Automatons
Automatons are constructed by Dampe, who resides in a shack northeast of Hyrule Castle. His workshop will remain inaccessible until you close the rifts in Jabul Waters and Gerudo Desert.
After completing this requirement, Dampe will appear in Hyrule and request a meeting at his workshop. Once you’ve spoken to him, proceed to Dampe’s Studio and accept the sidequest “Explosions Galore” . This will initiate the Automaton questline.
How Many Automatons Are There?
Automatons can be selected from the Echoes section of your inventory.

To craft the Roboblin Automaton, place a level three Sword Moblin on the platform and provide Dampe with the Heirloom Katana, which is acquired by completing combat challenges at the Slumber Dojo located in Kakariko Village (west of Hyrule Castle).

Sneaking behind enemies, then deploying the Roboblin for a surprise attack is a recommended tactic.
High-Sea Dad
The High-Teku Baba boasts a fearsome bite.
Recipe: Bio Deku Baba + Steel Trap
To create the High-Teku Baba, start by visiting the acorn enthusiast in the desert north of Gerudo Town. Complete the acorn challenge within the time limit to receive the Steel Trap as a reward. Then, return to the workshop to present Dampe with the Steel Trap and place the Bio Deku Baba on the platform.
What Does the High-Teku Baba Automaton Do?
The High-Teku Baba uses its large mechanical maw to devour its enemies entirely, leaving no trace behind. However, this implies that defeated foes won’t drop any Rupees or monster materials, so consider this carefully prior to winding it up.
Keep in mind that the High-Teku Baba remains stationary, requiring you to reposition it for it to engage enemies. This might expose Zelda to incoming attacks, so careful placement is essential.
Goldfinch
The Goldfinch can quickly accumulate a wealth of rupees.
Recipe: Crow + Golden Fan
To create the Goldfinch, first obtain the Golden Fan from the Gerudo Oasis, located east of Gerudo Town. Complete a task for one of the NPCs there to receive the fan. Once you have the Golden Fan, return to Dampe’s Studio and present it alongside the Crow Echo to create the Goldfinch Automaton.

Recipe: Fire Octo + Firework
Both Fire Octo and Firework can be found in the Elden Volcano region, accessed by heading south of Kakariko Village. However, the Firework Echo is only dispensable after clearing the rift in Goron City, allowing you to access the firework maker. You can find the workshop on the second floor of the right-hand shop in Goron City, where you’ll need to acquire blastpowder soil from the golden flowers west of Goron City before he provides the Firework.
Once you have both the Fire Octo and Firework, return to Dampe to create the Tocktorok Automaton.
What Does the Tocktorok Automaton Do?
After being wound up, the Tocktorok will bombard enemies with a vibrant array of explosive rocks. While this ability may sound formidable, the Techtite is generally considered the weakest Automaton in the game due to its slow launch speed, often leading to its destruction before it can attack. While you still may want it for completion, focusing on the other Automatons is advisable.
How Many Automatons Can You Summon?
Pairing Automatons with Echoes can significantly enhance your damage output.
Only one Automaton can be summoned at any time. However, unlike Echoes, Automatons do not require Tri energy to summon, allowing you to deploy one Automaton alongside your Echoes. This tactic can greatly boost your damage per second (DPS), providing you with the edge needed to defeat challenging bosses.
How to Fix Automatons
Repairing your Automatons will require a substantial amount of rupees.
Should your Automaton sustain damage in combat, head over to Dampe’s Studio. He will repair your Automatons for a fee of 25/35/50 Rupees or by exchanging one monster stone.
