In the NBA 2K franchise, badges play a vital role in enhancing gameplay in MyTeam and MyCareer modes. Unlocking these badges can be tricky, requiring attention to specific player attributes to achieve each badge tier. Fortunately, this guide clarifies the functionality of badges and outlines all badge requirements for NBA 2K25 across six categories in a straightforward manner.

Changes to Badges in NBA 2K25

There are a total of 40 badges in NBA 2K25. A new tier level, Legend, can be unlocked after the Hall of Fame tier, featuring the most demanding skill attribute requirements for unlocking. Although the Legend tier necessitates exceptionally high stats, the reward is substantial boosts to gameplay.

In addition to the new Badge tier, three new Badge Perks can enhance the progression of individual Badges. Each perk possesses two unlocking slots: one for Tier 1 Badges and another for Tier 2 Badges.

Max +1: This perk elevates a Badge 1 level above its maximum potential. You need to progress a Badge to its maximum level before equipping this perk. Each Season, you can unlock these at Level 15 (Tier 2 Badge) and Level 30 (Tier 1 Badge). At the end of the Season, Badges equipped with Max +1 revert to their original level.
Participation: Badges with this perk will gain a consistent base amount of progression in each game, irrespective of activation frequency.
Synergy: Badges with this perk will gain progression when teammates also earn progression using the same Badge.

The new Badge Elevator mechanic allows players to permanently boost a selected badge by up to three levels within its maximum limit. Badge Elevators can be unlocked through seasonal rewards from Seasons 1 to 8. For example, if a badge is at Bronze but can reach Legend, you can boost it to Silver, Gold, and Hall of Fame immediately.
