Complete Guide to All Boons in Fortnite and How to Obtain Them

Fortnite has introduced a brand-new gameplay feature known as Boons, which will give players strategic advantages in their quest for a Victory Royale. With the launch of Chapter 6, the island is buzzing with new elements, including the unique Oni Masks and the game-changing Boons.

Boons function similarly to augmentations, providing players with distinct abilities based on which Boon they acquire. Winning in Fortnite now necessitates more than simply equipping powerful weapons; leveraging Boons effectively can significantly enhance your chances of success.

Exploring the Different Types of Boons

One notable Boon is the Water Boon, which can be incredibly beneficial if you’re looking to avoid Med Kits.

Unlike typical items in your inventory, Boons are consumables that grant useful buffs without occupying your loadout slots. When activated, Boons take up a separate inventory slot, allowing players to maintain their weapons and other essential gear.

It is possible to utilize multiple Boons within a single match, provided you manage to find them. Currently, there are four distinct Boons, each offering unique effects:

  • Water Boon: Restores health and shields for you and nearby teammates while swimming.
  • Void Boon: Reveals the positions of surrounding players upon eliminating or knocking an opponent.
  • Fire Boon: Accelerates weapon reload times.
  • Wind Boon: Increases movement speed while wielding a pickaxe.

Acquiring Boons in Chapter 6 Season 1

Currently, there are several methods for obtaining Boons, each requiring some effort and skill, but ultimately rewarding players with significant benefits.

1. Returning a Sprite to a Sprite Shrine

With the introduction of Sprites and Sprite Shrines in Chapter 6, players can earn Boons by returning Sprites to these specialized locations. When you interact with a Sprite Shrine, Sprites will appear around you. Collecting them and bringing them back will reward you with loot, including a Boon.

Keep in mind that each Sprite Shrine allows only one Sprite return, so to harvest additional Boons, you’ll need to seek out different shrines across the map.

2. Defeating Bosses

For those chasing Mythic weapons and Medallions, bosses like the formidable Demon Warriors are great targets. Spawned at random locations on the island, these enemies possess significant health and power, so approach with caution. Defeating them not only gives you Mythic gear but can also provide Boons.

3. Looting Elemental Chests

Elemental Chests are another straightforward source for Boons. These visually distinct chests provide higher rarity items and can often be spotted from a distance. However, the contents of these chests are not guaranteed to include Boons, making this method less reliable for consistent retrieval.

By harnessing Boons alongside the latest weaponry and movement mechanics, players can unlock a wide array of new strategies and plays in Fortnite. Be sure to also familiarize yourself with the various map changes, weekly challenges, quests, and how to unlock the Godzilla Evolved skin to maximize your gaming experience.
