Keeper’s Shrines are easily identifiable while exploring the diverse regions of Black Myth Wukong, as they appear as a small shrine with swirling incense smoke. A shimmering Incense Trail will guide you to the nearest unactivated shrine.
To activate a new Keeper’s Shrine, simply approach and interact with it to light the incense. After a short cutscene, the Keeper’s Shrine submenu will appear, revealing the available options at these locations.
Keeper’s Shrines serve as crucial rest points throughout the game. Once you’ve unlocked at least two of them, they become a means of fast travel without any cost. Since navigating the world map isn’t feasible, unlocking as many shrines as possible is vital for your journey.

Black Myth Wukong Chapter 1 Keeper’s Shrine Locations
Front Hills – Forest of Wolves
This first shrine is easily found along the main path after you spawn in the game. Turn right at the first gold treasure chest and the shrine will be located on the right side of the mountain path.
Outside the Forest – Forest of Wolves
After defeating the first Bullguard boss and pausing at the first Meditation spot along the main path, navigate through a small opening in the cave wall on the opposite side. Climb a small flight of stairs and another shrine will be on your right.
Loong Claw Grove – Forest of Wolves
Once you receive the Loong Scale in Chapter 2, fast travel back to the ‘Outside the Forest’ Keeper’s Shrine at Black Wind Mountain. Head left towards a large waterfall and use the scale on it. The shrine will be on the other side of the waterfall.
Guanyin Temple – Forest of Wolves
After overcoming the Wandering Wight boss (you can choose to sneak past it), cross the rickety wooden bridge that wraps around the cliffside. Defeat any lesser yaoguais you encounter until you reach Guanyin Temple. After a cutscene, look for the Keeper’s Shrine to the left side, near a substantial tree.
Back Hills – Bamboo Grove
This shrine can be found directly across from Guanyin Temple, immediately after defeating Lingxuzi and obtaining the health-boosting pill. Make sure to unlock it to restore your health before moving forward.
Snake Trail – Bamboo Grove
From the Back Hills area, follow the main path until a left detour leads you up a set of stairs. Take this route and you will find the shrine to the left of another flight of stairs before encountering a certain individual who will assist you in upgrading your Gourd.
Marsh of White Mist – Bamboo Grove
Locate this shrine by taking the right-side path after defeating Guangmou. Ascend the narrow staircase and you will find the shrine in an open clearing at the top. Collect the Luojia Fragrant Vine from the tree to the left of the shrine for Gourd upgrades.
Cave Interior – Black Wind Cave
Post-defeat of the Whiteclad Noble boss, go right through the temple gate into Black Wind Cave. Take the winding path until it splits again. To find this Keeper’s Shrine, choose the right path and proceed through the cave until you reach another temple gate area. Defeat the lesser yaoguais in this area to unlock the shrine.
Outside the Cave – Black Wind Cave

Black Myth Wukong Chapter 2 Keeper’s Shrine Locations
Village Entrance – Yellow Wind Ridge
Start by crossing the river where you spawn at the chapter’s beginning. Ascend the canyon cliffs on the left side while defeating lesser yaoguais. Trail the orb path (which leads you to the next objective) along the canyon’s edge where a frog boss awaits.
When the path diverges, take the right route; the Keeper’s Shrine will be visible directly ahead, guarded by a sword and shield yaoguai.
Bottom of the Well – Sandgate Village
To access this shrine, complete the Old Rattle-Drum questline, defeat the boss in the village area, and then jump into the well nearby where the Keeper’s Shrine will be located.

After navigating through the Warding Temple and obtaining the Fire Circle spell, you will discover that you are on the back of a colossal turtle in the Bitter Lake. This shrine is to the left of the arena where you confront the Kang-Jin Star.
Bitter Lake – North Shore of the Bitter Lake
After hopping off Turtle Island, the Keeper’s Shrine is nearby on the shoreline, past some frozen yaoguais.
Bitter Lake – Precept Corridor
Follow the main path on the island into a cave, and continue along the narrow paths until an incense trail leads you across a bridge. The keeper’s shrine will be positioned on the other side.
Valley of Ecstasy – Mindfulness Cliff
After praying to the four Buddha statues and unlocking the path at the cliff face, navigate through a mountain cave, and this keeper’s shrine will be positioned in the middle area.
Valley of Ecstasy – Forest of Felicity

This Keeper’s Shrine can be found beyond the large black double doors where you initially spawn in the chapter.
Woods of Ember – Camp of Seasons
Beyond the chapter’s first shrine, follow the primary path until you approach a massive white tree. When the path diverges, head left and ascend some stairs, making another left and continuing up until you reach a boss fight in a small ridge area. After overcoming this boss, the next keeper’s shrine will be just beyond the area.
Woods of Ember – Height of Ember
From the Camp of Seasons shrine, cross the lengthy bridge and take a left where possible through the caves. Stay on the path until you reach another right bridge. Cross it and proceed straight past a charred tree and up a staircase near a small temple. Cross one more bridge, and this keeper’s shrine will be waiting on the other side at the base of a tree.
Woods of Ember – Ashen Pass II
After defeating the boss near the previous shrine, traverse through the door it came from and follow the path into the dark caves. Stay to the left until you emerge from a narrow stone valley and circle down until another boss emerges. Defeat it, and this keeper’s shrine will be right past the arena.
Furnace Valley – Valley Entrance
After the previous shrine, continue through the dark cave. Eventually, you’ll return outside, where a fox-like creature will lead you to the shrine. Follow it until it transforms back into a human, then jump off the cliff edge to enter the next area. This Keeper’s Shrine is found in a passage to the left.
Furnace Valley – Rakshasa Palace
Follow the main path of the valley, using the massive temple arches to guide your way to the palace entrance. Defeat the boss, and the keeper’s shrine will be located up the stairs and through the double doors.

This Keeper’s Shrine is positioned at the summit of the winding mountain path following the second Elemental Cart boss.

This first Keeper’s Shrine is located directly along the main path where you spawn at the start of the chapter. Engage with various yaoguai enemies to access it.

Post a significant boss encounter that grants you the Somersault Cloud ability, use it to fly towards the right over the mountain until you come across a vast battlefield area. This Keeper’s Shrine is at the southwest corner.
