Ultra Beasts, initially introduced in the Alola region of the Pokémon franchise, have also made their way into Pokémon Go. In this article, we will delve into the various Ultra Beasts available in the mobile game and provide actionable tips for catching each one.
Pokémon Go welcomed Ultra Beasts during the 2022 Go Fest event. This special occasion featured several Ultra Beasts available through Special Research quests and 5-Star Raid encounters, expanding the gameplay experience significantly.
These unique alien-like Pokémon first appeared in Generation Seven and have largely remained absent from the main series games since their debut. While they constitute a distinct subset of Pokémon, they share similarities with Legendary Pokémon from previous generations, including their rarity and thematic roles.

Strategies for Catching Ultra Beasts in Pokémon Go
Similar to Legendary Pokémon, Ultra Beasts cannot be encountered in the wild or obtained from egg hatches. Instead, players must defeat them during Raid Battles and secure a chance to catch them during the Bonus Challenge phase.
Upon besting an Ultra Beast in a Raid, trainers will receive a limited number of Premier Balls for the catching attempt. To enhance your chances of success, consider using Razz Berries and executing Excellent Curve Balls.
It is essential to be aware that Ultra Beasts, much like other Legendary Pokémon, possess a notably low catch rate, making it common for trainers to face challenges in successfully capturing them.
Notably, during the 2022 Go Fest, Niantic introduced Beast Balls, which significantly improved catch rates for Ultra Beasts. However, as of now, these special Balls are not readily obtainable, requiring players to utilize standard Poké Balls instead.
Current Ultra Beasts in Pokémon Go
Following Buzzwole’s Shiny variation introduction at the Pokémon Go Fest 2024: New York event in July 2024, and Nihilego’s appearance during the November Into the Wild event, no new Ultra Beasts have been featured in the game.
Ultra Beasts Not Yet Introduced
As of now, there is no Ultra Beast missing from Pokémon Go following Naganadel’s debut. In 2024, Poipole became available through a World of Wonders Special Research. Players also had the opportunity to evolve it into Naganadel during the Ultra Space Wonders event by accumulating 200 Candy (after designating it as their buddy and capturing 20 Dragon-type Pokémon).
