In Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4, Ascenders can be discovered at various spots around the island. Here’s a guide on locating them on the map this season.
Fortnite offers numerous ways to traverse the landscape, including drivable vehicles and the constantly moving train that circles the island. Mobility options are abundant, but it’s not all about vehicles—players can also take advantage of Ziplines, Grind Wires, and Ascenders.
For the Week 8 challenge, you will need to find either an Ascender or a Zipline to complete the objective: Use Ascenders or Ziplines during your matches. After utilizing either option five times, you’ll earn a reward of 20,000 XP.
Below are the positions of all the vertical movement devices scattered throughout the Fortnite island map.
What is an Ascender in Fortnite?
An Ascender functions as a vertical zipline that allows players to ascend or descend steep terrains such as mountains, bridges, or Loot Islands while navigating the landscape.
These devices are easily recognizable due to their vibrant orange color and prominent vertical cables. To use an Ascender, simply approach the wire and hit the interact button to ascend or descend quickly.
Where to Locate Ascenders on the Fortnite Map
Ascenders are dispersed throughout the Fortnite map, typically situated at the base of cliffs, mountains, bridges, or Loot Islands, facilitating a quick ascent to higher locations.
The simplest method to find one is by landing directly in areas known for multiple Ascenders. As you wait to descend from the Battle Bus at the beginning of the match, survey for less congested spots to touch down near an Ascender.
Here’s a list of the top Ascender locations in Fortnite:
- On the cliff located west of Grand Glacier
- On the staircase and western cliff edges of Restored Reels
- In the waterway that divides The Underworld from Rebel’s Roost
- At the summit of Mount Olympus and the adjacent mountain range
- Near The Raft prison
- At the peripheries of the Nitrodome Arena
- Within Redline Rig
- On any large bridge extending over water
- On substantial cliffs or mountain ranges
Once you spot an Ascender, make sure to use it five times to complete the quest and earn 20,000 XP towards your account—boosting your chances of leveling up your Battle Pass! It’s important to note that you can repeatedly use the same Ascender to fulfill the challenge, which can be done in just about a minute.
