If you’re gearing up for the 2024 Halloween event in Escape from Tarkov, prepare to encounter zombies for the first time in this highly realistic first-person shooter. Following your initial challenge in the Labs, where you completed Jaeger’s quest “Don’t Believe Your Eyes,”you are now being asked to collect blood samples for the “Dirty Blood”quest. This task marks just the beginning of a multi-quest Halloween event filled with surprises. Here’s your guide on how to prepare for and successfully complete the Dirty Blood quest.

To successfully accomplish the objectives of the Dirty Blood quest, you will need to:

Find and collect the infected blood sample within The Lab.
Submit the infected blood sample as requested.

What sets The Lab apart from other maps is its unique characteristic: a 100% infection rate. This ensures that zombies will spawn consistently, amplifying the challenge and intensity based on previous events unfolding in the containment area.

Preparing Your Loadout for the Task

As you prepare to dive back into combat, consider equipping your character with the following essential items:

Zagustin stim – crucial for managing the virus’s effects and controlling heavy bleeding.
Water – vital for staying hydrated, particularly as infection will hasten hydration depletion.
Two weapons – preferably cost-effective semi-automatic shotguns loaded with magnum buckshot to minimize ammo expenditure.
VOG grenades – effective for managing larger groups of zombies, especially when playing solo.
Armored gear (Class 3 or 4) – essential for protection against the shooting zombies.

The Zagustin stim plays a pivotal role in mitigating the effects of the virus, while water consumption will be necessary as you will dehydrate faster. Opt for inexpensive firearms; shotguns are favored due to their low ammunition costs, especially when considering engagement durations. Additionally, VOGs serve as excellent crowd control tools when you’re facing multiple foes.

Locating the Infected Blood Sample

With your loadout ready, head towards the Labs. Make your way to the containment room located near the infirmary on the first floor. It is important to note that zombies frequently spawn near this area, but they can typically be engaged and eliminated quickly.

Once inside the containment room, immediately access the switch door and navigate to the laboratory. At the end of the hallway, look to your right—you’ll spot a character in a yellow hazmat suit lying on the ground. Approach the suit’s right shoulder to retrieve the infected blood samples.

After securing the samples, ensure your weapons are fully loaded and prepare to exit. The safest route is down the metal staircase located to the right of the entrance to the containment room. Use the elevator to reach the underground extraction point.
