With the launch of Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1, the medallion system has made a triumphant return. Obtaining these coveted items is no walk in the park; players must confront some of the toughest bosses scattered across the island. If you’ve faced challenges in securing these medallions, this guide will provide essential insights on their functions, locations, and whether they merit pursuit in your gameplay.
Understanding Medallions in Fortnite
Medallions in Fortnite serve as remarkable items that enhance your gameplay by granting powerful abilities without occupying any inventory slots. These items are dropped by formidable bosses, making them challenging to acquire. To simplify, think of medallions as buffs sourced from the game’s largest foes.
One critical aspect of these medallions is that bearing one will expose your location to other players on the map, indicated by either an orange or gold circle. Currently, there are two distinct medallions available: The Night Rose Medallion and The Wanderer Medallion.
The Night Rose Medallion
This medallion grants a highly advantageous automatic weapon reload feature. To earn the Night Rose Medallion, players must defeat Night Rose in a boss encounter. This battle takes place at Demon’s Dojo, located at the eastern edge of the map.
To initiate the fight, players need to step into Night Rose’s designated area. She won’t sustain damage until the battle commences. Additionally, be wary of her ghostly companion, Night Rose’s Shade, which may attempt to distract you, though, based on experience, they are relatively manageable.
After dealing sufficient damage to Night Rose, you’ll need to target the glowing red eyes of her oni puppeteer’s floating head. This cycle continues until you ultimately defeat her, allowing you to claim both the medallion and her unique Night Rose Veiled Precision SMG.
The Night Rose Medallion proves most effective during scenarios involving multiple encounters. The automatic reload feature significantly enhances your performance in close-quarters combat, where timing is critical.
The Wanderer Medallion
This powerful medallion offers two impressive abilities: infinite stamina and invisibility while sprinting. Such powers can dramatically alter your strategies for both combat and map navigation. To acquire this medallion, players must take down Shogun X.
Initially, Shogun X can be found roaming the island, identifiable by an oni mask icon on the map. Defeating him in this phase grants only a mythic weapon. The true challenge unfolds when the fourth storm circle appears, causing Shogun’s Arena to emerge as floating islands.
The final confrontation with Shogun X is no easy feat; it takes several attempts to secure a victory against this formidable opponent. Upon his defeat, he drops both the Wanderer Medallion and his distinctive Fire Oni Mask.
Whether you prefer an aggressive or defensive approach, the Wanderer Medallion adapts to your playstyle. The invisibility feature allows for sneaky escapes or strategic positioning before an ambush, while infinite stamina enables relentless pressure on your rivals or swift map rotations.
Now that you are informed about the locations, acquisition methods, and functionalities of both medallions in Chapter 6 Season 1, we invite you to share your experiences in the comments section below. Enjoy your adventures in Fortnite!
