Complete Guide to Upgrading Swords in Black Ops 6 Zombies: Citadelle des Morts

The newest Zombies map for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, entitled Citadelle des Morts, invites players to traverse an expansive castle packed with hidden treasures and various sword types. This guide will provide insights on how to upgrade each sword found in the Black Ops 6 Zombies experience.

The Bastard Sword is unlocked by placing the Stamp into any of the four statues located in the Dining Hall. This Stamp is dropped by a distinct zombie wearing a knight’s helmet, which emits a golden glow when it falls.

Upon entering the Dining Hall, which is situated at the castle’s northern end, players will find four statues positioned in a circle. The statue you choose to insert the Stamp into determines the type of sword you will receive, based on the animal emblem on each statue’s armor:

Dragon (Fire Sword) – Lower Right
Lion (Light Sword) – Upper Right
Deer/Stag (Electric Sword) – Lower Left
Raven (Void Sword) – Upper Left

Upgrading to the Dragon Sword

The journey to acquire the Dragon Sword begins by interacting with the dragon statue immediately upon entering the castle. Behind this statue, you will notice a wall map with three illuminated spots.

These spots indicate the locations of nearby braziers that need to be ignited. Approach each glowing spot, collect the flames, and return to insert the flames into the dragon statue. It is recommended to have Juggernog on hand to help you survive these lengthy missions. After inserting all three flames, you will receive the upgraded Fire Sword.

Obtaining the Lion Sword

The Lion Sword can be acquired by locating a door in an alcove along the right path outside the castle. Once found, you must activate the sword by defeating several glowing enemies, and then strike the door four times with your charged sword.

Afterward, you need to interact with the door and place your sword into a small pedestal. You will be given one minute to successfully match the glowing symbols on the pedestal by shooting the floating symbols in the room. If you complete the task, the Light Sword will be yours.

Acquiring the Stag Sword

To upgrade to the Stag Sword, first, you need to collect three lightning rods located around the map. You can find them at:

Dropped by random Armored Zombie
Next to the Deadshot Daiquiri perk machine
Shooting the electrical box with the Deadwire Mod next to the Speed Cola perk machine

Make your way to the cannon area where you will discover a small pot with three holes. Insert the lightning rods into the pot to generate an electrical storm. Stay nearby to charge your sword, then strike it three times while charged to acquire the Electrical Sword.

Upgrading to the Raven Sword

To begin the process of upgrading the Raven Sword, players must first open the laboratory. This involves completing initial map objectives and eliminating the caged Doppelghast to enable the Pack-a-Punch machine. The laboratory is conveniently located to the left of the Dining Hall.

Within the laboratory area, look for an animal part indicated by a white circle. These can be located in various spots, so be thorough in your search. Interact with the white dot to collect the needed part.

Next, proceed to the tavern’s basement at the start of the map, where you will find a circular relic on the wall. Insert the animal part and align the zodiac sign and element using the arrow positioned at the bottom.

Refer to this chart for insight on symbol connections. Rotate the lines until the symbols are aligned. Here are some example combinations:

Antlers: Taurus + Fire
Horns: Aries + Fire
Jaw: Leo + Fire
Raven Skull: Gemini + Air
Rock Fish: Pisces + Water
Rock Scorpion: Scorpio + Water

Successfully completing the puzzle will summon a sequence of purple orbs to follow you, while a purple circle will appear nearby. Guide the purple orb into the circle three times. The circle will move around: first to the bar, and then to the second floor, where the process must be repeated. Once finished, return to the wall relic to claim your Void Sword.
