Dragon Ball Sparking Zero delivers a wide range of environments for your Z Fighters to engage in epic battles. This comprehensive guide will detail every arena available in the game.
As the latest installment in the beloved Budokai Tenkaichi series, Dragon Ball Sparking Zero is shaping up to be the ultimate experience for fans. Major leaks have revealed a vast roster of characters, each of which can be customized both in terms of stats and aesthetics.
However, there have been some challenges ahead of the game’s release, particularly regarding couch co-op limitations. Unfortunately, players will only be able to engage in battles on a single map in local multiplayer mode.
If you’re not teaming up with a friend in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero, there are plenty of other arenas to explore. Below is a complete list of every map featured in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero.
The dynamic and explosive attacks in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero will cause destruction within the arenas where fights take place.
All Arenas in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero
In a recent interview with IGN, Producer Jun Furutani confirmed that Dragon Ball Sparking Zero will feature 12 launch maps. The maps available at launch are:
- Planet Namek
- Open Field
- Rocky Land
- City
- World Tournament
- Tournament of Power Arena
- Hyperbolic Time Chamber
- Land of the Kais
- Islands
- Cell Games Arena
- City Ruins
- Destroyed Planet Namek
This selection of maps is relatively modest compared to the 23 arenas found in the PlayStation 2 classic Budokai Tenkaichi 3, a point that hasn’t gone unnoticed by avid fans of the franchise.
Concerns Over Dragon Ball Sparking Zero’s Limited Arenas
Is it just me, or having only 12 stages is this game’s first major L? I know that the maps are sophisticated and different from the previous games, but I’m not even talking about having all the stages from BT3. Just feel like some are definitely a must like Beerus Planet, the Glacier, Outer Space… by u/Legal_Anything_6883 in tenkaichi4
Before Furutani’s announcement, the Dragon Ball Sparking Zero community had already expressed concerns regarding the limited number of battle stages. The reveal of just 12 maps at launch has players worried about the potential ramifications for other game modes, including the single-player campaign.
“It is quite disappointing. I’m fine with Sparking Zero not having as many stages as Budokai Tenkaichi 3, but there are some glaring omissions like Kami’s Lookout, Glacier, Space, and Hell,” one player responded in the Reddit discussion above. “If the Tournament of Destroyers is included in the story mode, not having that stage feels strange as well.”
Furutani did hint that the number of playable maps is likely to expand with post-launch DLC for Sparking Zero. However, for now, the existing 12 arenas are leaving some players wishing for a more extensive selection to fully experience the game’s narrative.
