As in real life with certain animal species, some Pokémon appear only in specific regions around the world. Here is a comprehensive list of every regional exclusive creature in Pokémon Go, their exact locations, and tips on how to catch them all.
While trainers can usually catch most creatures in Niantic’s mobile game by attending special events or exploring environments such as parks and cities, some Pokémon can only be caught in certain regions globally.
These creatures are known as regional exclusives, with each Generation containing a few. To help you identify all region-locked Pokémon, we’ve listed them by their specific locations.

How to Obtain Regional Exclusives in Pokémon Go
The primary way to acquire regional exclusives in Pokémon Go is to travel to their spawning locations and search for them directly. However, this option isn’t feasible for most players due to the time and costs involved in attempting to catch them all.
Another method for obtaining regional exclusives is to trade with friends who have visited locations where the Pokémon you seek appears. A common limitation of this approach is that trading is typically restricted to friends who are in the same location as you.
Here’s the good news: Many regional Pokémon will eventually become available globally for a limited time during events such as Pokémon Go Fest or the annual Tour events, so keep an eye out!
One note: region-specific forms, like Furfrou trims or Vivillon patterns, have never been made available globally. This is likely because players can still complete their Pokédex without them, as these forms are merely cosmetic variations of the original Pokémon.
